I think Magno has great technical ability. His draughtsmanship is better than so many artists who've worked on transformers. A lot of the time bad colouring is what messes up his art.

The only thing that really bothers me is how much he ignores the toy designs of some of the off-screen characters. I don't mind bayifying the designs somewhat, but you should be able to easily tell who they are.

Agreed. He's certainly head and shoulders above many artists that worked on the Titan movie comics.

I think part of the problem is that his artwork has little hierarchy. He draws EVERYTHING! Which, while great, can make the artwork look really busy.

Nah, I like it as well.

I feel sorry for the colorist, but nice work there too :D

That's certainly true. They can be overly busy, but I think a good colourist could do a lot to add clarity to it.

The problem comes when the colourist puts the same shadows, colours and highlights on every little thing he draws, with no priority or sense of focus.

...riiiiiight. Maybe in-movie characters but any ones based on toys...yesh...nearly impossible to tell what's what.

It's not that I can't tell what's happening it's that with his art I usually can't tell what or who I'm looking at...

Sorry that most people don't agree with you on him improving. He's just as awful as he's ever been.

Bludgeon and Skywarp? This got exciting.

I guess they carried over the G1 Optimus-Elita relationship. Or the arguing.

Definitely, this needs something like the well-polished colors of Ultimate Spider-man...

All this bashing aside, has anyone noticed the other robot on the last panel? The one with the force field looks nothing like mirage's silhouette, and his head looks nothing like the render of mirage's head on the toy packaging. He's also not red.

Every detail of his head is identical to wheeljack -

I'll be getting these comics when they come out in TPB form, but I don't like most of the artwork, I mean look at Ransack and some of the others from Nefarious to see why, the movie characters don't look that bad.
I do enjoy the storylines for these comics though, so I'm not saying these are awful series', just not my favourites in terms of just reading them for fun

Yes, uh, this Wheeljack has already appeared in the previous issue of Rising Storm, in which he made a named, dramatic last-page appearance, and before that in Foundation #1.
