Hey guys, there's some new pics of the Transformers ride under construction at Universal Studios Hollywood over on Westcoaster. Things have definitely progressed – it seems that in order to fit this ride into what is a relatively small building, they're going underground. Check out this picture:

The red line there is ground level, meaning they've dug about 15-20 feet underground just to fit this ride in there. :D

Epicness. The ride will no doubt be really lame though, and without any actual transforming. But i guess as long as there are some Baysplosions, it will all be ok.

Looks more to me like they're just creating a stable foundation for the ride. If it's inside, it'll probably have a bunch of rafters/scaffolding/etc. that will need to withstand a ton of shaking...I'd assume the digging deep is just to make sure everything sits in the ground the way it should.

Does anyone know if they are doing this ride in Orlando too or is it just the west coast that's getting it?

I mentioned this in the other thread about the ride but I have a few friends who work in the amusement park industry, here is the word they have.

Transformers is supposed to be like the Spiderman ride in Florida. Universal in Hollywood had been looking to bring the Spiderman ride out to LA for some time until.......

Disney bought out marvel. Therefore Islands of Adventure in Florida only has naming rights (to their rides) until 2012. After 2012 they can no longer use the Marvel names like Spiderman, Hulk, etc. Hulk is easy to re-theme as a lot of the other rides are too. Spiderman is actually the only problem. Transformers is supposed to take the Spiderman place since it is essentially the same ride.

Now these friends of mine or not working exclusively on the ride they are on the outside looking in, yet they are in a closer outer circle than those not working in the amusement park industry.

Looks to me more like "The Ultimate Doom" when Megatron had all that slave labor.

I believe the ride is a hidden Agenda by Megatron, while hiding it right in front of our face. This is indeed a camp for Slave labor, but he is disguising it as a Transformer's ride to get us there. Get an Axe.

Actually, Universal has theme park rights for Marvel characters for the better part of the next decade. Disney buying Marvel didn't affect current contracts, which is why Hasbro still has Marvel rights (until 2017 at the very least). Disney and Universal are rumored to be working on a deal so that Universal wouldn't have to retheme that entire area of the park.
