I would say it is a toss up. I would say that this thing could go either way just as easily. Sony waited 3 years before Spidey 3 came out in order to retain Raimi and get their grubby little hands in the Pie (2002, 2004, 2007). X-men was a 1-every-3-years-franchise (2000, 2003, 2006).

I would say that Paramount/Dreamworks are going to try like hell to get Bay and company back in the chair immediately by shelling out more money and bigger budget. Bay will want more than what's reasonable and they will give him what he wants...a year off....before paying the ass ton he will demand. Is it desirable to lock in for the summer of 2011? Yes. Is it probable? Unlikely.

In some small-headed movie executives' minds, it just backs up the notion that less meaningful characterization and plot plus more explosions = more revenue.

great news, definitely enjoyed the movie...

    as for #3, I'm thinking 2012..
speaking of which, everyone think Orci and Kurtzman will be back for that?

I'm starting to think not. With the way this movie was wrenched from thier hands by Michael Bay I'm getting the impression that the Bay/Orci/Kurtzman partnership is over.

    THIS

And video games! They need to start pumping out more TF video games. If that ******ed Italian plumber can get new games every other month then Transformers should get more than they've been giving us.
