I love that Thundercracker is justifying his second thoughts from a pragmatic standpoint. Pity that Sunstorm can read between the lines, it seems. Speaking of, was that blank last panel intentional, like Thundercracker was supposed to be struck dumb by Sunstorm's words? Also, do the Bay movies exist in-universe?
hmm, interesting, referencing the movies as a cover story of sorts eh? clever, also, wonderful observations about the plots of megatron vs. the point of the war... I wonder what thundercracker would think of galvatron.
TC is essentially confessing his guilt and uncertainty to Sunstorm, but he only just realized it at the end of the update. The last panel is deliberately blank, attempting to show his own surprise at what he's said out loud. I could have been clearer. Lesson learned! @ boxorak: yes, in my "continuity", we're still in the G1 universe, with Transformers all around us, and Hollywood re-envisioned them as the Michael Bay movies. I don't know if the Autobots received royalties, but Bay is in protective custody, hiding from the Decpeticons. @ LC: Thanks! Thanks! And that's a great question. Hmmm. Now you've got me wondering...and I have already established that multiple quantum realities are at play in my story....double hmmmm...
You know, that reminds me... I could have sworn in one of the episodes of G1 (I think it was in season two), they briefly showed a shot of a movie theater that listed a Transformers movie on the theater's marquee in the background. *Gasp*
It puzzles me that for such seemingly intelligent beings, the Decepticons, especially TC, fail to see that the Autobots are not the old Senate. They do not espouse the blatant class-ism and rightly first for fairness and equality for all, something the Cons started out doing but got lost along the way.
It depends a lot on the portrayal of Megatron - but in the G1 Cartoons, at least, he didn't really come across as someone leading a justified overthrow of a corrupt system, but rather as a person strong enough to seize power after the wheels come off. (He's Franco, not Spartacus.) So it makes sense that his lieutenants would be sorts uninclined to work with the Autobots. Not to mention the emotional entrenchement thousands of years of war would create. Having become used to seeing the Autobots as the enemy, it makes sense that it's difficult to see they've changed.
I think it's a credit to your writing that it stimulated a serious discussion of past revolutions and rebellions.
I'll go with that interpretation! Thanks. Canada Day 2015 Update Click the above image to read the full update! 1. And this brings chapter 16 to a close. The good news is, much of Ch 17 has already been shot! See you in about 2 weeks.
Sunstorm is a bro...and he's also smart enough not to pull a Starscream, too. You know, I'm starting to like Sunstorm now...
Love that last shot of Thundercracker. Just... that expression on his face, after everything that Sunstorm had told him.
Sunstorm is a fun character! I've enjoyed the last two chapters with him, even if his main function has been to allow TC to shine (Sunstorm, shine, get it? ) Ahem. Sorry. We'll see more of the glowing nutter, I promise! Thanks! I'm very happy with how that shot turned out. Ha! I hadn't even noticed the similarities until you pointed it out!
Update July 18, 2015 [ Click the above image to read the full update! 1. And here we go with Chapter 18!
So, two leaders will arise, the thundertronian movement, wich holds to the original ideals of the decepticon cause, and megatron, who will do whatever he can to further his power and control. Unless the autobots help thundercracker, he's screwed, isn't he?
