Not that it's been mentioned. It kinda does feel like it was a set-up for stuff in the near future.

Having Bludgeon and a group of the more monstrous old Pretenders (Octopunch, Submaraunder etc). out in the badlands, preying on the citizens of Iacon like it was a frontier town would be awesome and allow a return to more combat driven plots whilst keeping the Starscream / peacetime intrigue stuff going too.

 

Whoa. You take a mutated Bludgeon, add some supporting characters like Octopunch and Stranglehold (who has a Rhino as the altmode for his inner robot); plus some suped up Turbofoxes and Sweeps, maybe even bring back Monstructor. You have them fighting the Dinobots in Cybertron's wilderness, in the shadow of a dead Dino-Titan. You've got Beast Wars. I think I'm okay with that.

 

That would well as a series by itself. I would like to see more monster cybertronians. I could see a number of original bots being treated from this storyline. That could be part of a new poll.

 

I could also see some RID-based Decepticons popping up as part of Bludgeon's faction.

 

It could also be a way to bring back Transmetal and Transmetal 2 BW characters into the IDW story as well.

 

I liked the comic but...
I don't like the dinobot designs, this includes Grimlock in MTMTE,
The art is hard to follow, it takes effort to make the story flow in my mind,
I was sad to see Barry go.

Not that it bothers me, but is it me or this is the first heterosexual relationship between Transformers in IDW universe (with Swift and Barricade I mean)?

I got this today since it was only 3.99 on Comixology and it was a lot better than I expected. It did kind of feel a little bit like Mad Max but it was an interesting look at the Dinobots.

You know, I thought I was buying this book on a gamble. I went in with the attitude of "You know, I probably won't like this but let's give it a try anyway." And I actually really enjoyed it! I read it all in one go, and I think that really made it work for me. It did feel like a little side-story movie. The characters were good, and although I'm usually not as fond of Livio, he was a great choice as his art style really captured the grittiness of what Cybertron has become as well as the shocking grotesqueness of being turned into a dinobot for the first time. It really looked like becoming that creature hurt.

Slug was great in this. I was a little off-put by all his Noir-style inner monologuing in the beginning, but it grew on me. I'm excited to learn that we now have not only a female dinobot, but a Camien female dinobot. I can't wait to see more of these guys in the future. I hope there will be more follow-up with them.

Also did anyone else expect a fistpump from both parties during that quiet Torchbearer cameo? I know I did.
