honestly, i dnt know if they should do a reboot... i would really enjoy one with a whole new story and more than just 9 autobots throughout the entire trilogy... however... if there were to be a reboot i dont really know of anyone who could truly and effectively pull it off.. lucas arts could take a shot at it... maybe even old spielberg... but i cant pinpoint one specific director that i can think of.

It depends on the director. Man of Steel was not supposed to be a reboot but that's the route they are going. It may all depend on the director. THe techonology they used to make these movies will be so much cheaper in a few years, they may be able to make a reboot with so much more CGI that it will blow us away.

    Oh god my balls

On a related note, would anyone else like to see a Horror take on Transformers? I'm curious how such a thing would work out.

It's up to Paramount/Hasbro. Not the director.

I think that would be great. Playing up the terrifying realization that any vehicle - the junker parked down the street, the helicopter flying overhead, hell, even your kid's tricycle - might be a Decepticon waiting to pounce. We could even add to this by stating that being in alt mode prevents a Transformer from being detected via energy signature.

Ridley Scott proved his ability to deliver suspense with Alien, so I think he could approach Transformers from this angle very nicely.

    Steven Speilberg, if it happens.

"And then there's Debbie Downer over here". This thread's for speculation, no need to immediantly say "Nope, not gonna happen, /thread".

James Cameron would be cool... Nolan makes good movies but I really dont want a tf movie about pretentious transformers and their daddy issues...not saying he would but he just comes off that way to me
