Making levels is easy. Getting the game engine to cooperate with the level you built is another story. You just need the game/mod and install a level editor called Trenchbroom. There is a large community discord of other level makers that use the software Headed by a YouTuber called Dumptruck DS. You just need to go into settings under quake 2 and select the mod as the TFQ path and it is set up.

 

Smaller levels are quick and easy though. Its only when you make a giant levels that you sometimes hit problems in compiling. I forgot you will need compiling tools. But I think they are available on the tfq site. I can send you them if they not there. TrenchBroom 2 Tutorials - YouTube
