The people who say, "Oh, RiD Bumblebee isn't as bad as people are saying" crack me up. This toy is completely indefensible.

The vehicle mode is quite nice, the transformation is fun, and in spite of the feet the legs are pretty good.

Those are three damn good defenses for it. It's a piece of crap, but not without merit.

If all I need is a good vehicle mode, I can buy a toy car.

This. I always have trouble defending a bad toy purely based on the vehicle mode. I own the FE Bumblebee and despite my hate of the upper body transformation (but good look) on that guy and the horrible lower body, this one is ten times worse. Can't believe they went back to the drawing board and screwed up the one part on that toy that at least looked decent and left those hideous legs.

Its also a shame that Hotshot will have to suffer that awful mold as well.

And if all you needed was a good robot mode, you could buy a revoltech. "It has a good vehicle mode" is not a proclamation that it is not a piece of crap, it is a point in its favor that your sarcasm cannot diminish.

It needs to have BOTH. That's the point. Only having one -- EITHER one -- makes it a crap Transformer. If I want a toy car, I can get a toy car. If I want a toy robot, I can get a toy robot. If I want a Transformer, it needs to do both things and not turn out like this.

You are arguing with me as though I am declaring it a wonderful figure, which I am not. I agree with you, it's a piece of crap.

However! I am unbiased enough to acknowledge the good points that the figure does have, like the vehicle mode, transformation, and legs.

You're the one who began the argument. When I said the toy is indefensible, I meant as a complete package. As a complete Transformers toy that costs money, RiD Bumblebee is indefensible.

Great review. You perfectly summarized the bafflement I felt when I transformed him the first time and beheld the half- baked bot mode. I thought I had missed a step or ten or that the instructions were defective. Denial gave way to the other typical stages of grief- anger, depression, bargaining, then ultimately acceptance- of the fact that I was going to have to shell out for a FE Bumblebee. Luckily I found one on eBay that I bought shipped for only five dollars more than this turd cost me at Target. Got that one today and it's great! Now instead of angry I feel good looking at RID 'Bee because I can point and laugh at him.
Plus now I have two guns for my good Bumblebee. So it wasn't a total loss.
