I won't be buying the Powerizer Optimus, but I guess I'll have to get this one since another Voyager Megs seems unlikely.

Why o why is he smaller than Optimus?! It's not like his vehicle mode has to be to-scale with anything, so why not make him slightly bigger? Hell, he could be the same height as Optimus and I wouldn't be bothered (although he's clearly supposed to be bigger and taller), but SMALLER?!?!

That's the main reason I won't be getting this. The lack of paint these days is really criminal, but mainly I never buy a Megatron without a to-scale-ish Prime to go against him, and that's not happening here I guess.

No son, 'Great' tends to mean 'Really Good', or 'Excellent', or maybe even 'Stellar, Evil Ted'.

The size difference in hand is negligible, and for him to be the size he is in the show he'd have to be scaled up to an Ultra, a size class that doesn't exist anymore.
The translucent plastic that runs through him evokes how he looks just before he lays down the smack to Prime in 'One Shall Fall'. Badass.
The plastic used - again - in hand it has a deliberate texturing to it to evoke brushed metal - I'd have preferred it a shade darker maybe, and of course we want more paint on every figure that gets a western release, but what we have here is still a great figure.

Alone he's not bad, and I'm not saying he be in scale, I'm saying at least make him the same size as FE Prime.

And don't call me son, son.

    Sorry son ;) .
It's really only that his head sits lower than Primes does. And Prime has those ridiculous(ly awesome) titty panels that massively bulk out his upper body.

Got mine today. He's not bad. I wish his head was more mobile, but that aside he's pretty good. Looks a lot better with his wave mate than FE prime, the right height too.

Why should they scale him for a toy that's in a different line?

If I recall correctly, Sol said you can lock it if you move the blades manually, which also doesn't activate the lights.

On it. Currently trying to find something dark as a backdrop so as nit to make him look less bleached and washed out. And diving into the sword mechanism to see what's going on.

Feel like victor frankenstein with all the gubbins, tools and dissassembled bodies.

Could someone who is lucky enough to own this wonderful figure see if the arm cannon from the deluxe Entertainment Pack Megatron can fit on this one?

Not got the 2-pack megs, but it's a standard 5mm port on this one's arm. So if the 2pack is a 5mm mechtech style peg then it should fit, at least.

I still think some people's complaints about his size are a bit unfounded. Sure, he is not the hulk he is in the show, but neither is he really that short in comparison to the other Voyagers.

Look at that. That is not an unreasonable scale...LOOK AT IT!

No, it isn't unreasonable, but it is worthy of complaints. Look, scale will never be perfect, and I think most people have accepted that. But scale between certain characters/figures should be, and this is one of those cases. You can say it's because it is in another subline, and that's fine, but it doesn't solve the problem of actually having a good Prime Voyager Megatron to go along with the FE version Prime.

Again, I really don't see it as that big of a problem. The figure itself still looks good to me, and the scale is not anywhere close to being "small" that he looks dwarfed by any means.
I think some people are being a touch unreasonable. And perhaps even a bit naive in their expectations.

    But that's just me.
I also don't care for the RID Optimus mold, but some think it's good enough.
