Good to hear that Prime does get a sense of humour this time around. A much as I love Prime in G1, I can't help but think that he came across as a little stiff and humourless at times. Of course, that has more to do with the writers than Cullen.

As long as Prime's new sense of humor doesn't have him fooling around like a gigantic Jar Jar Binks, I'm fine with it.

From the article: "Cullen has been the only voice of the leader of the Autobots since the inception of the Transformers as an animated TV show in the 1980s."

That's not true at all. A lot of the uneducated reporters seem to think that there's only one version of Transformers out there. Sure, a lot of the product has been forgettable, but the legacy of the Transformers goes quite a bit beyond 1986.

He had some humor in G1, he even played basketball.

He also beamed Spike with it though

Working in the IT field I have come across people who are more serious than Prime ever was, devoid of a sense of humor and nothing but business. I had no problem with G1 Prime being a serious leader. They do exist in the real world, just not as robots.

Well he did have the future of his planet and civilazation at stake. It makes sense that he would have to be serious all the time. He literally had the fate of his race on his shoulders.

Yeah, but some of those were as Optimus Primal, not Optimus Prime.

Hey, he had a sense of humor. Who else remembers the line in TROOP Part 2 where Optimus said:

Optimus Prime: "Now let's transform, and let's go fuck Galvatron right up his ass!"

...No wait, that was an internet parody vid...

    ...never mind...

Cullen has been the only voice of Prime in the original continuity which hasn't been mentioned since the end of Beast Machines. They possibly could have meant that (probably not because of possible under-education on their part of the Transformers mythos). Chalk has done a good prime with the Unicron Trilogy, but he still is no Cullen.
