Exactly what I was thinking. I did the same thing for BB, got the NYCC version and will skip the regular 1st edition and get the RID version.

I wonder when we'll begin seeing the TFPRID figures?

I love this guy and with a proper head, he could easily be my Classics Cliffjumper.

Can't wait to get this guy. (from TRU)

A few pictures I've seen make him look really hollow from the side in robot mode. How bad is it in person?

I'm very conflicted about which version to get. I plan on picking up Terrorcon Cliffjumper but I'd also like a regular one. I like this one but the hollow sides turn me off in pictures.

They do. I'll make a list of just Classcis cars I have that don't need to rotate at the waist to transform:

    • Rodimus,
    • Wheeljack
    • Jazz
    • Prowl
    • Ironhide
    • Drift
    • Bumblebee
    • & either Sideswipe or Sunstreaker (can't remember which rotates off hand).
The waist rotating means, usually, that they have waist articulartion.

Yes. BBTS posted something that that implied they were exclusive to specialty shops, but shadow2879, a Hasbro insider, has posted that they will reach the usual brick & mortor stores eventually.

The main line for Prime launches in March.

This is the only figure from the line so far that I 100% had to get. I think he'd look at home on my classics shelf aside from the head, but I'm sure someone will make a more G1ish head for it eventually. Now I just need to find a place I can preorder him at that still is taking preorders.

I really wish someone had their hands on the second version of Cliffjumper so I could compare and decide which one I want

Good find, great review, and an awesome figure! His transformation seems particularly involved for a figure of this size.

Might have to hunt down Cliffjumper for myself then.

I'll have a full review up later, but here's some quick thoughts on Prime Cliffjumper:

    Car mode is AMAZING!

Even has a little chrome autobot detailing:

Transformation is fun and Robot mode is great!

    Wait, wha...Where's he going?

"You and me have some unfinished business!"

Oh god! Cliffjumper has Starscream in the Rock Bottom!

    Wait a minute! He's not...NO, JR! He couldn't be!

    Is he?

    IS HE?!

    HE IS!!!

IT'S THE PROTOFORM'S ELBOW! CLIFFJUMPER JUST HIT STARSCREAM WITH THE PROTOFORM'S ELBOW!!! THIS MATCH IS OVER!!!!

    *ahem*

So yeah, he's a fun little figure. :lol

Oh man! His waist joint just slides right out! I sense possibilities!
