DP, you are awesome dude! There is no need to prove anything to anyone. What you do by taking your time getting these uploaded is mint!

 

If the quality of the file is good, that'll count more in the long run anyway. If you do decide next time to start with the DDLs and then distribute the torrent, I'd suggest using multiupload.com and leaving all the options ticked so there's several locations and people have a wider choice of preferred hosts. As long as some people with fast upstream speeds agree to regularly help initial seeding of the torrent after the direct download goes up, everybody would benefit from distributing the episodes like this.

I'm grateful for these to be available in any way, since I can't get Hub in HD at all. So if the torrent-first model continues I definitely won't complain, but the DDL could help more people faster.

 

Maybe DP should have lower quality downloads before the HD. People can download the small one to watch first then the bigger one later to watch AWESOMELY.

 

I'm fine with waiting a few minutes extra for the HD download, myself.

If only because it's a) STILL the first one that comes out or b)it saves on bandwidth usage only having to download it once.

Say, Dark Prime - you considered doing any other shows at all, like GI Joe Renegades? Cartoon Palace tends to take awhile to get that show online.

 

And when they do it's in pretty poor quality. Capped from a letterboxed SD source. You could be a hero by being the only source of HD encodes of Renegades.  

 

I only want the HD copy and am willing to wait for it. I can only assume the discerning members here at TFW would demand no less. Plus, it saves him work to only have to encode it once. The man is already spending time from his life for us how can we ask for more?

I thought about that, but I want to get the HD quality one done first. Besides, no one has been asking me for a lower quality episode.

Personally, I think it would be handy to have a stable platform like DD be the primary focus over torrents, rather than simply favouring a somewhat unreliable distrubution method because it's the fastest means of getting the captures into the public domain in some capacity. I'm not entirely familiar with the process of uploading to file hosts like Megaupload or Fileserve, etc so I don't know how much hassle is involved, but I think it would be cool if the emphasis was on getting the episodes to as wide an audience as possible, with punctuality - and if necessary, quality - being secondary issues.

Anyhoo, while I'd prefer to see a more stable distribution method favoured over torrents, the bottom line is that it ultimately comes down to DP's discretion on how these captures are shared - as he's the putting in the time and resources to provide them for us.

Well, even though what I wrote above is now a bit redundant, I'm going to leave it there because it took me a while to type! (Damn arthritis!)

 

Hey DP thank you very much for the hard work and time spent doing this. Just adding to the debate which people prefer, DD or Torrent; I'm also in favor of Megaupload going up first before Torrents, and those feeling generous can seed it for everyone else to help the torrent downloads move quicker.

Someone else may, I'm not likely too. If you really want them, you can download mine and use a free program like FORMAT FACTORY or HANDBRAKE to easily convert it.

 

Yay! I downloaded it in an hour..... then right at the end it messed up and didn't save, so I have to do it all over again. AWESOME! *sigh* Damn.
