Doesn't bother me, yet doesn't excite me. Though I would be interested to see how the rest of "Team Prime" would look as Rescue Bots, and even more interested to see how Boulder, Chase, Blades, and Heatwave would look in Prime's aesthetic.

 

You don't know what a torrent is? It's a way to share files. You can dl a program like Bittorando (that's the one I use). It's free to dl and use. Then you can look at torrent sites such as isohunt to find the files you're looking for.

So....Amnesia Prime automatically changes persoanlity and body design when he is in the same continuity?....sounds reasonable

 

Body designs I can live with since IDW did this so freakin much, but not sure how his personality changed at all?

 

First WFC and Prime, and now Prime and rescue bots. STOP PRETENDING THINGS ARE IN THE SAME CONTINUITY!

 

Stop pretending they aren't.   Seriously though,Transformers belongs to them, Hasbro gets to decide. They may make continuity errors but it's their property. It's not like there aern't continuity errors that crop up in things like comic books and cartoons all the time anyway.

It's not like it hurts anything and it very much makes sense for it all to be one continuity if you stop and look at it all from Hasbro's point of view.


-ZacWilliam, for them making their modern offerings all one uber continuity family is a significantly better idea then letting them go in random fictional directions...

 

The thing is though, that the properties are being developed as different animals. I understand wanting to use a source for an alignment, but establishing links to each property makes things worse. This isn't the DCAU which, not exactly flawless, actually took each property in mind when it came to B:TAS, S:AS, Static Shock, Zeta Project, and Batman Beyond and JL to build a seamless universe.

 

they arent pretending, the idea of Wfc and Rb beign in the same continuty as Prime, was something hasbro had in mind from the very beginning, as they said in 2010 or 2011 that anything that takes place in the aligned continuty will be part of 1 single continuty

 

Singular source, branched stories.

 

Neat idea! I just hope that one does not affect the other negatively.

 

What's "worse" about it? Those of us into Transformers enough know the score and kids and casual watchers are never likely to notice the discrepancies.

Hasbro's idea is that they base all modern fiction/universes they're creating on the same blueprint-backstory. That way even though the individual creators have freedom to build where they choose off of that blueprint there is a basic similarity of form and backstory to it all that makes it easy for kids and casual viewers to jump between versions and still understand the basics of the universe/situations.


-ZacWilliam, so sure, they're different "continuities" within a "continuity family", specific details vary, but the universes are enough alike, enough the same thing that jumpers between feel comfortable passing between. So Hasbro plans.

 

WFC and/or FOC may take place in a diff universe (like the g1 comics and games and such), as ppl pointed the problems of the game (WFC at least) and prime, but theres nothing that proves that RB is not in the smae world as prime

There's not much to disprove it either. To me, there's more in favor of RB being in the same universe as Prime than against it. Optimus isn't a main character because he's with Team Prime, hence why he only makes cameos. Optimus already has human hooks ups in the government (Fowler) to get the RBs their place to stay. Also, Optimus knows that human kids tend to make valuable assets, suggesting he already knows Miko, Raf and Jack. Later down the line, they'll probably have more things to tie the two series together.

 

Is that supposed to be Steve's AAAAAAAAAH!!!! face?

 

One funny thing I just realized if Team Prime and "Rescue Force Sigma-17" (thank you, tfwiki) ever meet - Bulkhead and Boulder would probably experience a bit of mirror-image weirdness when they see each other. I know that Boulder seems to be a design homage to Armada Scavenger, but the two still look a lot alike.

Also, another little thing that could maybe connect the shows more than Optimus Prime's occasional appearances in RB: Have Agent Fowler make an appearance in the Rescue Bots cartoon.
