Thanks to ADAge, we were able to get our hands on some tidbits about the upcoming HUB Transformers TV Series “Transformers: Prime”.

The BEST news so far is that the TV Show’s Optimus Prime will be voiced by the legendary Peter Cullen himself. Mr. Cullen is the iconic voice of Optimus from the 80s’ G1 and Michael Bay’s Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise.

“Transformers: Prime will feature the voice of Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime from the animated series as well as the Michael Bay-directed feature films. Additionally, "Transformers" feature screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci will act as showrunners.”

Also, due to the government restrictions, Transformers: Prime cannot show advertisements relating to Transformers Toys during the air time. However, it can show other toy commercials such as G.I. Joe or My Little Pony. But other shows such as G.I. Joe: Renegades, can air Transformers Toy Commercials during the commercial breaks.

“Transformers toys, for example, can't air within or adjacent to the "Transformers" show due to government restrictions. The same goes for other Hasbro-branded programs that also have products to advertise at retail.”

Got one more bit of info. Till now, G1 is the only vintage show planned to go live at the HUB. However, we expect the Beast Era, the Unicron Trilogy and other nostalgic Transformers Cartoons will air as the new TV Channel matures.

Transformers: Prime will air on 10/10/10.

That's great to hear! I'm especially excited to be able to watch other series on tv again. I hope I'll be able to get this channel when it goes live.

I guess we can assume the new Prime isn't like Animated or Primal then. He'll be an older leader. It's quite awesome to have him back for a series though. It must either be kickass for him to accept doing it or his paycheck is through the roof.

Actually Tiller, Transformers: Prime (Or I call it TFP) might be given the "First Year Treatment". The show will focus on the early years of "The Great Battle", before Optimus became "Prime". I'll give you all more info as I get them ok. :)

Whoa whoa whoa, you got the inside scoop? I meant he'll be more battle hardened like G1, Movie, and WfC Prime. Does this mean what I think it means though? But please do relay any new info post haste!

Wouldn't that conflict with the WFC storyline? Or at least be one too many origin stories out at once...

Awesome to hear Cullen's on board, BTW.

This makes my day. It's about time we had a Transformers series with Cullen as Prime again. It's great to have him back in an animated series!

Primus has smiled upon us this day! I was hoping for this but I wasn't sure Cullen would desire to sign on for a series.

...Wa ba de wa de ba-What!?
Wow...That is rather cool to see Peter Cullen actually reprise the roll in a new TV show...If it's true...I mean I don't want to be a wet blanket, but...I also don't want to give my hopes up and then see a following headline: "Cullen will NOT be in TF Prime." Cause this kind of feels like one of those stories.

The government restriction thing is kinda odd...Though I guess it kinda makes sense, given Hasbro will own the channel. I suppose that could fall under a sort of monopoly type of category.

I am yet to receive more info whether Transformers: Prime is based on War For Cybertron OR Transformers: Defiance by IDW.
The info I have clearly point towards Transformers: Defiance. But, there were rumors back then about the show being set in WFC. :)
