I quite like it when Prime asks him "Soundwave, you are telling us everything... aren't you?" Then it cuts to a panel depicting what Soundwave saw in the last issue. Soundwave: "Everything."
See I like the art for the humans and for most of the on-screen cast, but characters like Knock-Out and Reverb and Ransack, etc. just don't look good. They look way to complex and buggish. The only off-screen character designs in the book I like are the cassette minions and Dirtboss.
I think it is hard as an artist to draw the movie bots. They are just too dang complicated... Way to complex to consistently get it right.
Nefarious turned-out to be a good read. It's sort of a movie of it's own. From what I heard, the next series is called "Transformers: Sector7". I guess it acts as a prequel to the third movie like Transformers: Defiance did. I wonder what the other series might be (equivalent of Transformers: Alliance)?
Story looks solid, but the art is really bad. Wish Alex Milne had come back for this one. He was phenomenal with Alliance, Defiance, and Reign of Starscream. Wow... a wince, or maybe even some sadness from Soundwave. "Everything."
Might depend on the schedule. Like Alex Milne's (who is probably the best IDW artist for the movie characters) work in the movie adaptations generally don't look quite as good as his work in the movie prequels and sequel off-screen books, which I assume is down to a more hectic schedule and changing circumstances as revisions to the movie's script are made.
i had dropped after #3-- does the series honestly get much better after that? i kinda shy away from preview pages...
Woah, wait a minute. Can someone please tell me which issue, and why, Soundwave is helping the Autobots? I don't care about spoilers; just use tags and I'll be glad to read them. I haven't been able to read Nefarious because the freaking local comic book store sold-out.
