Comic Book Resources has posted a three page preview (LineArt) of Transformers: Nefarious #1, the official sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film. The series will feature a secret organization called "The Initiative", with access to Cybertronian technology and the know-how to use it.

"Why doesn’t the all-seeing Soundwave know anything about it? How did they come to reanimate/control RAVAGE? SOUNDWAVE must find the answers, and he’ll destroy anything in his path to get them!"

Nefarious #1 will be the direct sequel to Tales Of The Fallen issue 5 : Ravage.

Nefarious 1 will be out on March 2010.

Follow the link to take a look at the 3 page preview : Transformers Nefarious #1, 3 Page Preview

Getting a little tired of that one Bumblebee render.

I guess I can't complain, since there's also a cover with original art. But I don't know why they bother. The photoshopped covers do nothing for me.

On the plus side, that guy Carlos they've got doing the art, he's top notch. Good solid all-rounder, not just a bot-specialist.

Haha, that Pretender hijacked a winnebago with old people in it? Classy.

I bet the art looks even better when colored. edit: which is surprising, because this is supposedly the same guy who drew Tales Of The Fallen: Sideswipe (probably other too, but I haven't read those), and I considered the art SHIT in that one. - robots that are blatantly traced from toys and 3d renders, lack of detail where needed and very scribbly lines.

Maybe he has improved or has more time to draw this? Or maybe I'm wrong and the other pages are shit again.

That looks pretty slick. Most of the time, TF artists are really good at drawing robits, but their humans look like malformed degenerates. Not so here. Great art!

I'm starting to think that Magno's art is better uncoloured. These lineworks seem alot more clear than what we've seen in the ToTF comics.

    And Alice is back?

Though Magno has made a slight improvement on his previous work, it still looks awful.

    *facepalm*

And how does anyone know that that's Alice? For all we know in the movie-verse the Decepticons use pretenders like the human facimilies in the IDW G1 issues and this is just another undercover drone.

I think this looks fantastic. Magno's work has really grown on me. As in this looks exactly as a 'movie' title should. Anyone trying to draw 'realistic' TF should take note. Especially on the humans. That's where so many potentially great artists fall down. I wish the G1 ongoing looked a bit more like this (and I'm LOVING the ongoing!)

I know, right? It's not even colored in. I mean, hello people, what kind of comic has no color, and no dialogue?

"The Reign Of Starscream" was considered canon... So I guess the same might be for Nefarious too (Hopefully)

All official fiction is considered canon. In continuity with other stories is another matter entirely though.
