Welcome to the Transformers Music and Score Discussion!

This thread's main purpose is for people to just discuss the music or instrumental scoring of any Transformer TV show or movie. Just really kinda have fun with it.
Just talk about a certain piece you liked, why you liked it, if anyone knows what ___ is called, that kind of thing. Any questions or comments about Transformers music goes here.
Any music fans out there will hopefully enjoy this, and hopefully this thread will take off.

    Let the music discussion begin!

I loved the series music and 86' movie music with also the 07' movie ending song by that one band.

The shift from the orchestral background music in g1 seasons 1 and 2 to synths in season 3 always interested me. I suppose it was done to continue the musical tone (no pun intended... ok maybe a little) of the movie (which was beautifully composed by Vince DiCola). I think both feels have their merits and I very much enjoyed both. That said, I really liked the synth and electric bass work in Web World and Return of Optimus Prime. Very nice stuff throughout.

To do a little shameless self-promotion, my college thesis in jazz composition and performance was entitled DeceptiConcert. 7 out of 8 tunes were written and arranged by me for jazz combo and big band, but only one tune directly referenced Transformers.

A seasoned ear can pick up the Transformers theme multiple times, as well as connect the 3-note bass pattern to "2005" at 4:05 here:

    Hope you guys enjoy!

My favorite score is from the Movies, by Steve Jablonsky.

I also love Vince DiCola's score from the 1986 movie.

I love Transformers music. Even the Takara material. I have sets like:

    Transformers History of Music 1984-1990
    Transformers Theme Song Collection
    Transformers Song Universe
Also CDs from Micron Legend, Superlink and Galaxy Force.

I even really like Tony B's music :)

TF Music is actully one of my collections within the Collection.

I guess one favorite that comes to mind is Galaxy Force "Ignition". :D

I mostly enjoyed the background music from G1 with the season 3 score being my favourite. The ones played on Nightmare Planet and Carnage in C-Minor were my overall favourite but I enjoyed the music in Webworld too (especially with the guitar synths towards the end, I felt it gave it a bit of a "sadistic" tone to it)

I know this may seem like a zombie thread, but I've been trying to find the Score from the '07 movie. Why are they $35 and up? What the hell happened?

My favorite score is from Cybertron/Galaxy Force and the first Bay movie's score.

I personally think Beast Wars and Machines are near the bottom since they fell prey to the typical 90's rock score and its constant repetition of it.

I don't. I love Beast Machine's score, especially the vehicon theme. It was anything but typical. The thumping beats sounded like a heartbeat racing.

Beast Wars is the only show that consistently got the fight music right. When robots throw down, you need rock, man. :rock  The UT had awful dull and generic scores.

$35 ain't that bad man. At one point a sealed copy was selling for over $100. I guess a lot of folks really like it.

It is available in itunes for $16.

    Not really,Split Lip.

A good TV score is when it makes the show look cinematic. TF: Prime attempts to do this while Beast Wars just plays some random guitar riffs whenever they need do.

    Also check out cybertron's score

I think they were a limited pressing because of the fact nobody on the publisher's side had any idea how big demand was, so they didn't want to be burdened with unsold CDs. I remember at the time they were hard to find unless you got it right after it came out.

It obviously worked because the RotF score was right there when the movie came out.

And here's looking forward to the DotM score in six months time :)

Oh yeah the soundtrack in Cybertron was certainly a good thing about the show (to be honest, the only thing I LIKED). Fierce Battle! Is just insanely actiony.

I also like that Electronic Soul of language alot and "Combat Preparedness" even if the name is... weird.

I may be biased because of both nostalgia and being a metal-head, but I loved the music for Beast Wars. Not so much with Beast Machines.

G1 theme you have to like; it's a staple of Transformers.

I love Vince DiCola's score in TFTM86, especially the piano rendition on that Botcon CD he did a while back.
