This is what I want. The classic vehicles are awesome looking. Would look really cool as robots. Xmen First Class was set during these times so why not Transformers :p  What time period would you like a Transformers to be set in that isn't modern day. What about the stone age were we follow the life of Jetfire's father. The first wheel!

Interesting idea. Personally, I think it would be cool if they did one set during WW2.

A movie within the Cold War Era would be interesting. We could bring back Devcon and his Dino-copter buddy.

'50s would be awesome, with car culture such a big thing. Make Rodimus Prime the leader, as a hot rod, of course. Great way to do that without having to off Prime, and it could tie in neatly with the movie backstory.

We could get a VW Bumblebee. :D

50s. I not only love the culture but am obsessed with the cars of that era.

Can anyone else imagine an Autobot becoming one of these babies?

And of course, it would need a Decepticon Plymouth Fury. :p

Sounds like an interesting concept. I'd get behind it.

A lot of the military gear in the fifties was the same as WW2, so it'd still work. Well, except for the bad guys, I suppose. They'd have to reformat into Soviet vehicles, I suppose, which would still be cool.

Might be cool to see movie one in WW2, movie 2 in the fifties, and movie 3 in the sixties. We'd see some DAMN cool vehicle modes in all three, both military and (especially) civilian.

Why, because we have more variety in car models today? I don't think so...

Cold War Transformers series for me.

The original series took place during the Cold War and I really liked how DOTM tied in teh cold war to the plot. WE NEED MORE COLD WAR TF'S!!!!!

Transformers in the '50's? Wouldn't that basically be The Iron Giant?
    ...
Someone needs to make that happen. Like, NOW.

But the original series(G1) has no indication of The Cold War or any time period. It's just a desert

FC was set during the 60s, not the 50s.

50's would kick ass for a movie.

You've got the Cold War element going on. Some really amazing designs for cars, nice big cars so no worry about robots being too small. Plenty of jets and even helicopters to use as alt modes. It's also the classic era of B-movies and driving movie theaters so it seems like that could be worked in a well.
