Here's a TF Movie Robot Replica Frenzy I repainted. Nothing too fancy. I have to say these Robot Replicas do benefit a bit from a TLC in the paint department. And speaking of paints, I have to say I love Tamiya spray paints for plastic. Fantastic smooth finish. No wear on the joints. I used it on this figure and I think it's great stuff. Spray painted with Tamiya silver, given several ink washed and finally some hand painted detailing. The only mods I did was to swap the arms so they didn't look like they were on backwards and some very minor trimming of the flashing on the head. In case anyone needs to see what the figure looked like before I painted it, check it out here. Thanks for taking a look. I'll try to post a few more pics soon. EDIT: Picture update of V2 11-16-08
he looks like a different toy *L* I remember seeing this for the first time in the toy isle and being hugely disappointed.
I honestly think my disappointment in the Robot Replicas line is what really prompted me into building the large scale non-transforming figures I've been working on.
I actually LOVE this toy (and the FAB version of Frenzy). When I first opened this toy, I thought of the same thing you actually did to this guy. You made a cool toy look even much cooler. Kudos!
11-16-08 Update: I sold the first version of Frenzy (pic 1) on ebay. One of the bidders who didn't win contacted me about a commission, so here are some pics of the Robot Replica Frenzy I painted and modified for him. I decided to use the gun arm as the base for a removable head this time around. Kind of a "Witwicky Attack" Frenzy. Thanks for taking a look.
He seemed pretty happy with it. Could be a repeat customer. I have a few more Robot Replica repaints ready for ebay this week. He said he was very interested. we'll see.
he is awesome all the way looks so much better. i did not get a chance to get one when they came out now i don't see them anymore. now i wish i had one lol
