Is this the writer of that TF novel where lots of humans dies needlessly and Prowl says "Revenge is a bitch" or something 'BADASS' like that?

Everyone seems to be forgetting about the role of Scott Ciencin, who wrote the first godawful novel. David Cian was then brought in to salvage the mess that Ciencin made. Given what he had to work with, I didn't think he did that bad of a job.

I'm willing to give him another chance, to see how he does working on something from the ground up.

I'll buy it. I hope it comes out well before the movie so I can read it before I see it.

If I do make a decision to read this, it won't be until after I have seen the movie.

Supposed to be out by March. I'd be suprised if it came out after that. The actual movie novel should be out by June at the latest. I'm really curious who they have doing that. Probably someone a little more mainstream.

I will pick this one up. Anyone who talks bad about this guys other two novels and just shut it. As a novelist, I can not imagine having to delve through the crap the orginal (so called) author wrote in the first book. Honestly, for anyone interested in reading that series, just skip to book two. You may be lost for the first couple of chapters, but I'm saving you a lot of pain. And, I'm telling you that as a Transformer fan.

I read all three books, and the two he wrote/salvaged from the author are much better and joyable reading. Many of the errors and all of the cusing was in the first book. Also he had the duty of trying find a way to link volume one and volume 2 together and to keep the "status quo" much the way Furman had to do with the original British comics. David Cian is also a pseudonym of Russell Davis, who writes under pseudonym of Christopher Tracy. It does seem he hasn't written much under either name though.

Man, the reaction to this is the same as everything else in the TF community. And it kind of saddens me. Give the guy a freaking chance! Try going in to this with an open mind for once and stop prejudging. Wait till the book comes out. If people that actually read it say it stinks then take that for what it's worth but don't condemn a project before it's even released. Damn, that frustrates me.

    (not intendted for anyone specific)

does anyone think this thing will be aimed above the Jr. Reader mentality?

*cue the Optimus with the goofy no facemask grin pic from that other book*

no. This book will be similar to the King Kong lead-in book, "The Island of the Skull".

Since David Cian will not be showing up to salvage someone elses story I have faith that this could turn out to be a good read.

It seems, of the people that read all three books, the 2nd and 3rd were much better books. I admit that I started the first book and gave up very early on. Could not get into the story and the writing wasn't very good.

I guess I will have to go find my books so I can check out David's writing on book two compared to who wrote the first book.

From what I remember, you do. But it has been a while since I have read them.

To sound off I thought book 1 was absolutely terrible. I bought the second and third books merely because I am a sucker for books, and things TF...So combine the two and you own me. But I gave the second book a chance and I was glad I did. Cian's books were much better, and I can see why they went with a different author for those two books.

I agree this book definitely deserves a chance, from what I recall, Cian is a capable writer and made the best out of a poor situation IMO. Or all the doubters can wait for someone like me to buy the book and give you an honest opinion.

I think the more TF books the better...I would love to see it grow much like the large volume of Star Wars novels available, and seeing the task be tackled by a number of authors. I know I for one will be supporting this endeavor.
