I thought that leaked footage was discredited as being a fake.

I would have liked ILM to go down that path, but I like what we got.
Scratch that -I love what we got.

I'm a little tired of that guy talking about how simple Cybertron Prime is over and over :p

it was never discredited as fake. don murphy only claimed it was fake to save his ass. when the final designs were revealed we were pissed. if we knew ILM was already working on G1 looking bots we would have been completely outraged and gone on a lynch mob. i believe what happened was they made some test characters with that aesthetic and figured it was too simple for the big screen. bay even said in an interview that he didn't like how blocky they were. how would he know unless they made a 3D bot to test out the onscreen presence?

i tried to say it was real back when it was leaked because i know a producer who worked with ILM at the time. i should have known it was pointless at the time.

At least at a glance, he looks recognizable as one of the characters. Seems like G1 names were thrown on last minute in some cases, ie. Frenzy. I mean, Soundbyte, or was he originally Soundwave? (shudders at the thought)
