Members of the TFW2005 crew at the SDCC met with an individual that was on the set of the upcoming Transformers live action movie last week. He had an image of a 25 foot tall model of Optimus Prime in robot mode. The Transformation appears to be similiar to G2 Laser Prime and has similiar visual features to G1 Optimus Prime.

I can handle that. The G2 Prime mold is one of my all time favorites.

Wow... similar to G2 Prime? As in the windows being on the underbelly?

... This undermines a bit of the "He needs to be a longnose so he can stand taller" credibility.

Still, sounds intriguing. Hope pics surface.

That's a little vague. I mean, G2 Laser OP has similar visual features to G1 OP, save for the shoulder-mounted 'missile launchers'. Is this maybe a reference to the robot mode color scheme?

Vagueness aside, this generally sounds like good news coming out of the movie camp. That's something we can always stand to get a little more of around here.

I expected as much judging from the fact that the truck form is pretty much similar. And Laser Optimus is a DAMN FINE figure IMO :)

Hopefully this bit of news calms some of the fandom down a bit

Big chance we won't get to see it, since the TFW crew could only post a description.

Crap. Not another false cab front. I hate those. I just hope to hell he doesn't have those awefull shoulder boxes G2 Prime had. That's what's always killed that mold for me. Armada Prime did that Transformation much better.

Probably have to - G2 and Movie Prime had really long front ends, but Armada Prime has a smaller, squashed end due to its somewhat super-deformed design.

    EDIT: DAMN NEW KEYBOARD LAYOUT!!!

Laser Prime is one of my favorite Prime molds (even if the colors did suck) this should be cool as hell!

I don't know, G2 Laser Prime looks a lot like G1 Prime to me, except for the big shoulders.

Indeed, as Dark_Convoy said the G2 prime was a fantastic mold which I had fantastic fun with as a young lad, its great news.
