The thing is, much of the front end of the Camaro is on BB's chest, go back and look at the pics, it's there but it's been folded a bit, I'd expect the same thing with Jazz myself.

I will gladly take that bet.

Jazz is a White Solstice unless they have completely scraped what I saw.

Iron Hide is very bulky with weapons all over. His head reminded me of NeoConvoys head(the wooly Mamoth). Before anyone starts complaining that the head is not G1 accurate just pause and be thankful his head is not a Van windshield...

You got it... If I lose I'll fax you the money... :lol .

Besides, I'm not doubting you, I'm doubting the statement that the bodies will be matching the mass of the alternate modes. Even the 70's camaro has more mass than a Solstice so unless Jazz has a skinnier design in robot mode he'll be shorter than Bumblebee and given that they made Optimus a long-nose truck to have enough mass to match the big-ass decepticons in a fight then Jazz won't have an actual mano-a-mano with anyone... except frenzy maybe, and that would be an insult to Jazz.

Does my point make sense to you?

I get what you are saying about total mass. dlat and I saw the same pics, and they didn't give any sense of scale since all of the images were independent of each other. The only pic that gave scale compared the bot to a human size, and even that was for only one of the bots.

Yeah I get what you are saying.

If I remember correctly( Now mind you there may have been some drinking going on prior to the viewing) Jazz was a little thinner than Bumblebee. I never saw pics showing scale comparisons.

That would make a lot of sense... the drinking part I mean (j/k).

Jazz has always seemed slimmer than BB, but still other than Barricade I don't know who else would Jazz face... maybe that's how it goes, Jazz sweeps in right before Barricade takes his killing blow and saves Spike and BB after getting their asses kicked... which now that I think about it would be kinda cool seeing Jazz outsmart and outmanouver a big bulky mustang.

Yes I predict Jazz will be calling on Ratchet through out the entire movie. Hopefully the toy will be coming with random parts to fall off too. :horse:

Actually it was the Opel chassis that came first, it was meant as a larger, faster version of the VX220/Speedster.
Never got put into production here, GM used the chassis for the Solstice and the Sky instead.

I will also confirm as Dlatkow & Freezowave did, Jazz is a whitish Solstice. He is thinner than the other bots I've seen and probably the most "G1ish". Ironhide is black with a "Prime like" head and he is big bulky and loaded with weapons (the coolest looking of the one's I've seen). Overall, they looked cool but if these are what we see on the screen, I see no way they can translate into accurate toys.

BTW just a point, modern cars are way heavier than 70's cars.

Be interesting to compare the weights of a Solstice and a 1970's Camero.

    A 1975 camaro weighs about 600 lbs more then a 2006 solstice.

No, the VX220 and Speedster were mid-engine, rear drive, and were built alongside the Lotus Elise. The Kappa platform was developed because of the positive reaction to the Solstice concept. When the front-engine, rear drive platform was approved, Opel/Vauxhall dropped the expensive MR Elise-based platform & hopped on the Kappa party along with the Solstice & Sky.

Anyway, last I saw he was silver, but it'd be cool if he was white.

Well sounds cool so far. I like the optimus and bumblebee robot design.

How it says "Pontiac Solstice?" it could be a hint that it is the alt form, or it could mean "pontiac solstice? where'd u hear that?" By the way where did everyone find rumors of Jazz being a Pontiac Solstice anyway?

We live in motown, and GM is heavily involved in the movie... Lots of friends, family, and others work in automotive, and things circulate. Won't say more out of respect for the nice person who showed 'em to me.

The Autobot lineup is very saturated in GM branding, almost exclusively actually.
