HD-DVD is the one for me. Any date set for the release? Guess 300 on HD-DVD will have to hold me over. :)

All I want is this, a metal case in the style of the THE DEPARTED special edition metal case, with an autobot logo on the front and a decepticon logo on the back. No writing or anything.

What happened to the prequel in the DVD that Mark Ryan was talking about?

BlueRay can go to hell. HD-DVD it is!

I wonder if these "loads of extras" are nothing more than that 5 minute "first look" footage we got in the 20th anniversary '86 movie.

I been noticing alot of people wanted to know the release on the movie .I remember back in june when the retail monster wal-mart was setting up for the toy aisle to have movie merchandise there came across a sheet explaining how much they wanted to stay ahead of other competitors. and should stay like that till the movie is released out by october. are retail stores sometimes wrong in this case

sweet im getting the 2 disc one! but we'll probably gonna have to wait until the blu-ray disc comes out. Does blu-ray disc for a movie come out later than regular disc for the same movie?

I'm holding off on Blu vs. HD until there is a clear winner. Can't people learn from the past (VHS vs. Beta)? But I guess I need people who go out and buy the new stuff as sort of testers for us more cautious folk.

I don't think there's anyone on these boards who's gonna get the regular version. However, there are people out there (didn't know this until I lived in Indiana) who don't care about extras or can't afford the better versions. That sucks :(

I have already decided to get a bigger screen just for this movie and hopefully a 1080P version for the Ultimate Quality.

I hope the HD-DVD version is a combo format (HD-DVD/DVD) so I can watch it on any of my DVD players anywhere unlike Blu-Ray. Besides Blu-Ray is only capable right now of using only 50% of it's total capacity so currently, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are equals at 1080p, except for the combo format thing

    That's what I always say.

The normal version of this sounds kind of weak, almost all DVD's come with more extras than that on the standard version.

I wonder if they will come out with a Super Special collecter's Director's cut version about 4 or 5 months after these are out like they seem to do now days. That's why I'm glad I waited to get some movies, such as Hellboy, that came out with a more extras packed, or extended, version that came out much later than the original DVD release.

    Wha...?!
Dude most of the Special/collector/ .5/ Director/ Ultimate editions aren't that much more than the normal ones. There are those that will set you back about twice as much as the normal version but most of the time those ones have atleast two extra discs and/or silly amounts of extras that go on for hours and hours. Plus don't forget to look for the places with sales running!!
