Airplane-wise, he's much like Energon Thundercracker in that it's very obvious what type he is, but he is no specific variant--he has bits and pieces of several different versions. (And Fulcrums are even harder to differentiate than Flankers IMHO---differences are much more subtle and shape-based, rather than pure "does or doesn't have" something)

He's a MiG-29, but not a MiG-29A, C, K, M, OVT/MiG-35, etc. My first guess was actually MiG-35 but it only has a single-seat cockpit. And of course it has the big VTOL fan, "inherited" from Thrust.

 

I like the head Shockwave/blast isnt the only TF that can have lense eyes, change is good.

Neat, its a Mig 29. The TF scheme and resulting bot mode is not cool ... funny how hard it is sometimes to get away from the G1 SS TF scheme for planes!

 

With Swindle and Dreadwing, it made me think maybe the drones are really an army for Shockwave. Kinda like Energon Scorponok and his Terrorcon.

 

That would be good for a sequel excellent idea.

Between Cybertron Thundercracker and this guy, It's looking like I'll NEVER see a decent TF of a russian jet fighter.  

 

You guys remember when Hasbro said they'd prefer it if test shot pictures weren't around because they make the products look worse than they really were? Well, back in 2003-2004, that may have been true with the guys in China not knowing how to transform or pose them, but nowadays Hasbro is doing a fine job of not knowing how to transform or pose their own products themselves.

Ironic.

Umm, the movie toys ARE engineered by Takara. Most Transformers toys are.

The only ones I know of that Hasbro did mostly by themselves are the Energon combiner teams (Constructions, Aerialbots and Combaticons), Star Wars Transformers, the 6-inch transforming Titanium figures, role play stuff and Ultimate Bumblebee.

 

I really hope it's mis-transformed. Esp. the head.
