This part has me a little worried, for a number of reasons.

Of COURSE some of it is true. Maincharacter, love interest and random military guys are a given with these kind of movies. Wonder if it really is for Transformers, though. Prime Directive seems to be a giant hint, but could be another project as well.

 

Why is Spike changed to Sam. And Shia LeBeouf looks too young, he looks like Daniel.

 

I would have to worry about this being a movie about Humans with Transformers as Extras if this is true

This is the whole reason why I won't be seing this movie. When I hear of a movie about giant fighting transforming robots, that's what I want! I don't want people running around getting in the way and having something like "love interests" and "comic relief"! I want giant fighting robots kicking the Hell out of eachother! THAT'S ALL!

Why is it the popular thing lately to put Transformers in the background of Transformers?

 

because humans are a tad bit more, human. thus easier to relate with. but G1 did do it the best, with balancing humans and transformers with in the story it self. though, i do like the humans in energon the best, if we can't have spike, can we at least have kicker?  

 

I love how everyone is saying this movie is going to suck simply because of a couple of names and descriptions of human characters who NEED to be in this movie as much as the TFs themselves need to be in it. As much as I'd like it, a movie of non-stop robots fighting would suck because movies devoid of human aspects are rarely interesting.

before you can have robots fighting, you need a little thing called CONTEXT.

 

Just because the first roles cast are the humans doesn't mean that they will be the most important. Also, Shia Laboef was good in Holes, so it may nto be a total disaster, though He is a bit too young. But then again, Hoels was hte last thing he did, and that is how old now? He might be good. And of course there will be a comic releif character who literally falls on his ass at meeting the TFs. I'm really hoping for a bit of a Small Soldiers vibe from the movie. Make the TFs need the humans, but have both species as important.

 

If the humans are going to be front and center in the movie, I don't care. Just as long as they don't get in the way of actual Transformers on toy shelves. The movie is just a syringe, the toys are the actual heroin!
