    Not a bad idea.

Unfortunately, I'm on the outs with pretty much...everyone. Doubt I could even get a name change!

I find this funny and ironic indeed. I tried watching one of the online versions after seeing it in the theaters, but the quality was so bad that I couldn't finish it. That being said, I certainly have no remorse or feelings of guilt whenever I preview movies first online before deciding whether to go see them in the theaters.

Isn't that the purpose of movie trailers?

Sure, I downloaded the TF movie. But that was after I paid $14 to see it on IMAX, and then it turned out that I only saw the $10 version blown up to IMAX size, and then later I still bought the DVD(would have spent more on the blu-ray, but I can't, way to go paramount).

The trailers are movie propaganda. They pretty much make every movie looks decent enough, which is why I don't trust them though I am fooled by many still...ie, Spider-Man 3, Superman Returns, Master of Disguise. Previewing movies now just means I'm a more informed movie goer now.

Not surprised, given the staggered release with SEA getting it first, then the US, then the UK and other European countries getting it *weeks* later.

Count me in as a statistic also, I bought it 2 times pirated on a trip to Mexico, and bought the walmart, target, and best buy exclusives. 3 original copies so guilty as charged.

I bought my version of the 2 disc dvd, and saw it twice in theater and another time in the IMAX. my brothers friend downloaded it after seeing it in the theater with us, and I watched it, computer screens don't do it for me, so if its good I'm gonna buy the dvd. 65 inch widescreen tv or, in my brothers case, iPod. hmmmm. theaters and production companies arent' losing money on me.

So, Transformers is the most pirated film of 2007, eh?

And it still made BOATLOADS of money, eh?

I call SHENANIGANS on the industry saying pirating affects profitablility.

I wonder how much more money they would have made if the movie was not Pirated?

Well I did DL it in crappy 754xXXX something resolution quality because I had to watch it. Also I went to the cinema 3 times to watch it (that was before I DL'ed it) and I bought the Steelbook edition in December, so I think I'm excused :lol :

This just reminded me of something else (slightly off topic). Movie posters are also prone to this. The movie poster for Reign of Fire shows the sky over london full of dragons and Apache gunships:

    http://www.tracksounds.com/images/misc/reign_fire_big.jpg

To me this suggested the mother of all dogfights - but in actual fact there was only one helicopter in the whole film (not an apache), and most of the movie was spent on the ground in northumberland (not London). The movie was actually ok - but the poster was very misleading.

The same goes for movie trailers. If movies were really as good as the trailers suggest - we would have some really awesome movies out there. As it stands, its a bit of a hit and miss affair.

...While it's nice to see TF's was popular, I suspect this is one award I'd rather not see happen. :(

*Cough* There are 1080p and 720p versions all over the newsgroups if you have the ability to play to your HDTV off computer...

Given that I work in TV and film I'm not a huge fan of piracy, but can't say I liked this film enough to be massively bothered about it either. This will probably bite me in the ass sometime down the road...:)

*EDIT* I'm a Decepticon! When did that happen?!?
