The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

I do have to ask, though, what is going on in panel 4?

That's like panel 4 of "Badass": the long and cataclysmic battle is over, there's silence in the scorched land and only thing moving are smoke and rubble. And in the silence, when all the opponents are apparently vanished (buried by the consequence of their own fight), a silent observer enters (that's Soundwave's shoulder).

Yeah, that's what I thought, but the panel looks awkward with his shoulder there. I think the exclusion of the shoulder and just showing the rubble would have a lot more parallelism.

I planned an asymmetric structure at this point because the narrative splits on two different time levels.
Well, at least this is what the story should suggest:
    - the battle ends, Soundwave is there;
    - he picks Megatron up and leaves (they give up the idea of looking for Grimlock)-
    - once they have left, Kup and Swoop (synthesis of LSC and Dynobots) arrive and watch as Grimlock re-emerges.

Jeremy's art is amazing (as always!), but I have to say that the colors here look very, /very/ lazy.

Loved the artwork. Too bad I hate War Within or any other TF reboot.

Love it - but who is the "third person" narrator - Starscream? Soundwave? Shockwave? or someone else?

Story good, but the artwork was not great, unfortunately. Bit difficult to tell what is going on.

Jeremy's art style is very detailed and busy - and in a good way. Unforunately, I think it is the colors here that are preventing you from enjoying the artwork to the fullest extent. You should really check out Jeremy's DA gallery if you haven't already done so. I think you'll be blown away.

Agreed. Great Mosaic. Good art, good story, and aside from the above mentioned bizzare shoulder shot, good flow from panel-to-panel.

I agree. I think the colorist did a great job, but I think a bit more of a muted color palette might would have helped this piece just a bit more. Alty, what advice would you offer the colorist? What about the rest of you guys?

I'd also like to say that one reason I've posted in this thread a bit more than others is that I enjoyed this one so much*. :)

(*which isn't to say that I don't enjoy the others, as I think it's pretty obvious that I have :) )

I would like to see as much effort put into the colors as Jeremy put into the line work. I see a lot of little mistakes, or perhaps intentional 'pass-overs' that, for me, come together as I evaluate the overall piece and I can't help but feel as though the entire labor was done in about an hour.

For instance, the upper left corner in panel 5 isn't even colored in. In the first panel, you can see the line work for the moon in the background through an explosion occurring on Megatron's armor. There's a lot of flats that go outside the boundaries of the line art. The biggest thing that bothers me is that nothing is given any special attention or care at all. The parties involved are handled no differently than the background.

The story is great. Art's not bad, either. Great work. :thumb
