The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

This is good, but it got me feeling a lot more sympathy for Ravage than for the humans. I know it's not the point, but I really felt that it enforced the bond between Soundwave and his cassettes, to the point of self-sacrifice.

Poor Ravage... soundwave may not be a father, but he is a slight protector, ravage and the other casseticons do store inside his chest often and as beast wars showed, they are more than drones or extensions of soundwave, they are individuals.

Sorry, doesn't work. There's no way to see Soundwave as Ravage's 'daddy', and Spike showing up in the end just to die was nothing but a 'WTF' moment.

Sad story. I liked the poem throughout the story, reminded me somehow of books by Stephen King, where he places fitting lyrics of songs between chapters.

The technique he used in this mosaic is called Juxtoposition. That WTF moment as you call it was totally intended.

Great mosiac, most sad and emotional.

I totally agree here. Spike and Daniel showing up is jarring to say the least, and after they show up, we find the poem isn't about Soundwave and Ravage [much] after all. Top this off with the cliche "emo" tone of some Mosaics, and we have a failboat. "Happy Father's Day"? Sorry, but there are better ways to drive home a point of appreciating what you have than the way this piece does it.

I absolutely love the Transformers: Mosaic project (who do you think works on our gallery here?), but a one page, 5-panel comic doesn't mean, "let's have a character monologue about how they aren't good enough or some other kind of brooding inward reflection."

A one page, 5-7 panel story is a GREAT challenge to both an artist and a writer to do something really, REALLY cool in a very concise space. This is one of my favorite aspects of this project. TFs slicing their wrists, brooding all day long =/= cool.

never said soundwave was ravage's daddy. that's just how you interpreted it ;)  and as for the 'wtf' moment, what do you expect? not easy writting a twist ending when you only have one page to tell the whole story. im sure your mosaics are better...

if you didnt like it then fair enough. everybody has different tastes and i value your honesty and different viewpoint than my own.

I was impressed. The art is strong and the story, in the context of telling a complete story in one page, is challenging enough but the writer then has the viewer assume the story is about Soundwave when in fact it is about another character entirely.

Sad, yes, but I didn't see any other Father Day Mosaics popping up. Something different than the expected is always welcome.

Then make it two pages. If the Mosaic dude doesn't like it, publish it at your own.

    Wow, was this really necessary?

no, it was imature and unfounded as i dont know whether you have tried your hand at any mosaics or not. my apologies. broke my stupid wrist very recently and although it does not excuse my harsh tone, hopefully you'll understand it has effected my judgement. plus i am rather proud of this mosaic so more protective then i should be.
although it may not be as 'safe' or 'normal' as some of my other mosaics like the christmas 'appreciation' mosaic, it's the fact that it's different that makes me fond. too many mosaics fade from memory to fast.
obviously you are not a fan of it and i welcome all negative feedback as it helps me develope as an artist/writter and so am guenuinly sorry i was rude towards you.
i do strongly disagree with your opinions towards this mosaic however that does not mean i am right and should not give me reason to 'bite' you.
