The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

Awesome! That would have been a great basis for a Season 4 of Transformers G1.

I really like the concept of the Pretenders, though many fans don't, but that doesn't mean I dislike the Headmasters, Targetmasters and Powermasters. I just prefer them to be their own characters, to not be weighed down by the useless Nebulans.

    Thanks!
This was exactly our purpose, but it's just half of the basis we figured out. The other half is History Repeats, with a very different origins for six other Pretenders.
And there is another one coming.

I absolutely LOVE this one! While the artwork is fantastic, it seems that this is a G1 piece and not an Animated piece, as the style tends to lean towards. Regardless, it's awesome and I love it.

Yes, Kris Smith's art is so incredibly professional (no wonder, he is a pro) that he can draw in any style he sees fit, as far as I'm concerned ;)

By the way, yes, it's a G1 piece. Third and last part of the mini-saga called "What Lies Beyond The Veil".
Part 1 & 2 were: Eyes and The Experiment.

There's also a Octopunch spin off: The Call

It am greatly impressed by view and contents of this presentation. I loved this comics. The picture presentation is very good and language is really very clear. I am sure it would get enormous contribution.

So the Pretenders were created from the paranoia of Breakdown? That would have been a much better plot for 'Nightmare Planet'

Awesome comic, but the quintessons plot would actually make the alliance stronger seeing as the autobots would be the ones slaying the pretenders or "our fears".

So the Quintessons engineered the Pretenders? Interesting mosaic, not to mention superb Animated-esque art.

IF the Autobots slay the Pretenders: Quintesson tactics would require the Pretenders to strike quickly and vanish before the Autobots can reach the attack place; and these Pretenders are supposed to have some supernatural powers that the Autobots are not ready to fight back (not yet).
However, I think that this toying with extradimensional psitronic matter is going to backfire on the Quints, who will quickly lose control of their creations :)

I must say that 'Nightmare Planet' inspired this plot. Without that episode, there wouldn't be my Mosaic miniseries :)

I had to cut out some texts, because it was getting too long, but the main flaw in the Quintessons' plan is that they gained access to our collective subconscious thanks to the engrams of a child. Hence, the monsters of ID they extracted are, in truth, childish fears :)

And this was Octopunch's spin off: The Call.

There is one more Pretender origin coming, and after that there are three plots available for the Nebulan Pretenders "finale" and the Earth Autobot Pretenders saga.
Any artists interested, out there? :)

Thanks. The fun is in the challenge of developing a new concept but only by using always different characters.
The final step will be less unexpected, I'm afraid.

But, in the same time, Juan Pablo of the Lost Seasons devised another Pretenders origin that is incredibly clever and logical, since it stems from the unsolved plot threads of an obscure and underestimated episode of Season 3.
