The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole. These are some of those stories. Without intending harshess, this feels a lot like a high-school doodle rather than a serious piece. The grammar with it's run-on sentences, mis-spelled words and punctuation errors, combined with the elementary artwork make this a less than appealing piece.
^ I dunno - I think it's perfectly serviceable artwise. It simple, clean and bold, and I'm always a sucker for black and white art. Although maybe a bit of colour might be good at some point. I mean is that 'Optimus' in the first panel supposed to be white or red? Also, is the artwork in the first and last panels copied from something? They seem very familiar. The laid down Optimus from the movie or ROOP and the Xaarron back from one of the Marvel Wrecker stories, with the Magnus from the cartoon? As for the words, they could maybe do with rewriting and breaking up a bit. The second panel especially is a chore to read. In general though I've seen far worse strips.
The art style's OK, if a little rigid. Looks like it got scanned or saved at some horrendously low resolution, or a Photoshop filter gone wrong. The type is a bit of a mess. On top of the small punctuation/grammar/spelling errors, it's written entirely in all caps, which is a real pain to read. Too make matters worse, it again looks low-res. The story's pretty interesting though.
I think I'm falling in the middle of these two critiques. @ Noidea: Most legitimate comic book work has lettering that looks as if it's in all caps, so I don't think that's a fair criticism of this work. In fact, it bugs me more when comics are not lettered in a standardized way. Generally speaking, I think this is a strong piece. If some of the errors were fixed, it'd be even better.
