The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

Hmm, I wonder how aliens in the ark might work.

I'm afraid personally I don't believe that physically lifting panels from different comics and pasting them together can be considered a tribute. Art is more than just panel by panel, the artist has to work in the whole layout of the page.

I have to say that this is my knee jerk reaction as well. I'd think "tribute" would be more of the artist illustrating the work himself (even if using similar panel layouts) and then crediting the original artists. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's something "wrong" with art sampling, and I think this piece of artwork even courts that line some. I'd just simply say that it's a bag of mixed feelings at this point.

    However . . . .

. . . . this is where I'd have to disagree. The artist here has clearly done this, creating a new piece of artwork with his own page layout using the art he's sampled. I don't think this is the strongest panel layout (which is one of two of the most original elements of this piece; the second being the actual story), but it is constructed from the artist to tell this particular story.

I guess I don' thave too much of a problem with lifting the art from another source (though I do still have a problem with it), but this entry is just incoherent. Besides Scrapper getting shot in the head, I have no idea what's going on.

I don't think I can go that far. The execution hurts the concept too much.

I would have prefered Razorclaw (or the rest of the Predacons) vs. Predator!

Personally, I don't enjoy crossovers too much.

With all the artists in the Mosaic circle, I can't imagine one would have had to wait long to get a bite on "Transformer vs Predator."

I'm not a huge fan of Mosaics, but I usually appreciate the art at least. This is just lame, copy-pasting someone else's art together is just wrong is a series that is all original art by fans for fans.

I'm going to be honest: I didn't like this one. Not because the art was lifted from other comics, but because I didn't like the story, if you can call it that. The Mosaics are supposed to be self contained stories, while this one has moer questions than answers.

Nope, this doesn't work for me at all. I could make God knows how many stories up by lifting panels from other stories; anyone could. Personally however I'd much rather have the sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing my own work come to life.
The writer should have held out for a decent artist, rather than yoinking art from other sources and calling it a "tribute". This is just lazy and uninspired, and feels to me like it goes against everything this series is supposed to be. It doesn't even seem to be told that well either.
For me this fails on every level, I'm afraid.

This was incoherent at best, no sense of story and the "lifted" art just ruins it.

Remember 2 or 3 years ago when mosaics were actually good?

So few of them now days come close.

This one is an all round failure imo.

There have been a few here very recently that have been splendid. Hopefully, the creative team will take this one in stride and come back to kick some tailgate with more great artwork :)

Its a nice idea, but I can't say I like the idea of lifting panels from old Dark Horse comics. At least of those is from "Batman versus Predator", if memory serves.
