I feel the artwork struggles to compensate for a poorly designed layout.

I'll be blunt. I have no idea what is happening.

 

Erm...eh

 

What's going on? For a second I thought, maybe there might a pun on "The Fly". But uhm... I don't really know. Do the panels really relate to each other?

I think it's supposed to be, what happened to Waspy at the end of Beast Machines? Its hard to follow though that's for sure.

 

I think it's waspinator getting reformatted by cheetor to be less lame. The layout doesn't really convey enough and it's not clear enough who's talknig

Would you explain it to us?

 

It's after the ending of Beast Machines,at the end you see a tiny wasp body flying around with Thrust's head on it,if anyone has ever seen Beast Machines all the way through will understand this piece.

I feel that while the art may not be great,it is a great ending piece to Beast Machines.

 

Never finished BM but knew of the ending.

Overall though the Mosaic itself is kinda......I dunno......not as good as it could be.

 

I like the concept, and it's a good attempt, but I feel it needs work as others have said.

 

I'll be super-blunt: The artwork needs a lot of work, the layout is not the best, and the story (what there is) is not that great either.

 

I've watched the end of BM..I know what is 'going on' here, but I'm still clueless.

The problem with the story seems to be that it's pretty much going nowhere, and the art is not helping to clarify, only to confuse. Not sure if it's supposed to be funny or just trying to tell a little story..I *think* that after the reformat Waspinator is a normal sized techno organic thing back to his jihinks, and Rattrap is kind of like 'aw shit, here we go again!'..except he isn't. Or is the joke that Waspinator is reformatted into a really funny ugly looking creature?

Even a single page comic should have a solid beginning, middle end, and this goes especially for a funny comic - the punch is important. To me this comic feels more like it doesn't go anywhere, nobody is even sure what is going on and, oh, we ran out of pages..

So in short..as pretty much everybody has been saying: I think it definitely needs some refinement, both in story and art.

 

It seems that Thrust, having been converted to the Thrust-headed Wasp in the planetary reformatting, is being properly reformatted by Cheetor. This undoes the Vehicon formatting of Megatron. Thrust thus returns to the technorganic development of his original BW mode.

Waspinator's new mode is evidently that of BM Buzzsaw, which seems to be a better explanation for that otherwise obscure figure. I presume that this is the main purpose of the Mosaic.

The artist might have proclaimed his name to be Buzzsaw to clarify that, but it would have added a third name to the same character. Also, BM Buzzsaw was a Maximal, despite other uses of the 'Buzzsaw' name being associated with the Decepticons and Predacons. (On the other hand, I can imagine Waspinator saying 'Buzzsaw' with a certain amount of spitting through the 'zzs'.)

Rattrap's 'good grief' moment refers to the reinstating of Waspinator's original personality, which does in some ways seem like a retrograde step.

As for the title, Waspinator is apparently alone as a techno-organic Predacon.

 

You're right, I believe (I mean, I got most of this), but I think most of what people are commenting on here is the actual action taking place and not the conceptual aspect of this piece, however even that is quite a bit lost in the way this Mosaic is told. It's just a very mucky piece of sequential art, on a layout level especially.

The reader shouldn't be left guessing thinking, "I've read something, but I don't really know what just happened".

 

It's like an episode of Lost.........

 

Well, I do agree with many of the criticisms about the layout, and the artwork isn't to my taste. But I thought what the artist was trying to convey came through fairly clearly; and was an interesting concept that merited mention. (Unless, of course, that I've been reading it all wrong.)
