Just got off the phone with my hasbro rep who informed me that T:ROTF toy line will run to a staggering 64 different figures when all is said and done and that Hasbro are also prepping some TF Might Mugs too! WOOHOO! sorry if this is old news.

Mighty Mugs we knew about, but not the 64 figure thing.

Does that count non-transformable figures as well?

There has to have been at least double that number for the first film? Counting the Heroes, Legends, Titaniums...all the repaints etc.

    64 figures... ay yai yai!

I will probably skip on the FABs and non-transforming figures, mind you (not to mention other stuff here and there) but that's still a lot of figures.

Well... can anyone give a tally of how many figures we got at each price point for the movie 1 line?

I know we got 7 Leader-class figures for instance (including repaints)

My plan personally is to go for one representation of all the movie characters, and only to rebuy guys if I like their new molds better than the old ones.

Prime and Starscream will likely be rebought for instance - I like the old molds, but if the new ones are upgrades, AWESOME.

I can't spend the time to break it down by size class, but I did a quick runthrough of our Resource database and counted 219 figures related to the movie. That includes the regular Transformers classes, FAB, Slammers, Stompers, Roll Play, Robot Heroes, TECH, repaints, exclusives.

We'd probably need clarification on what the "64" means. 64 different molds is a different story than just 64 figures.

My count is around 240 for American releases, so we're in the same ballpark... 282 including Japanese releases.

If we just count figures that TRANSFORM, what is it?

That would mean FABs, Real Gears, Deluxes, Voyagers, Leaders, etc

Sorry should have made myself clearer, the 64 relates to transformable figures only, no robot heroes or any titaniums etc.

Minus Robot Heroes, Titaniums, Cyber Slammers, TECH, Robot Replicas, and Role Play stuff, around 155 (for TF1).

    Let's see.

    Movie toys.

NOTE that I'm NOT counting multi-packs that contain no redecos. (Answering the question "How many toys were there?" depends on whether you only count original mold, or also retools and redecos, and then multi-packs and Japanese/European variants and whatnot.)

    Legends:

12 original molds, plus 10 "Allspark Battles" redecos (three of them also released as single packs outside Europe), plus 2 exclusive Japanese redecos (both of Bumblebee).

    Real Gear Robots:

8 original molds, plus 8 redecos.

    Deluxes:

18 original molds, 2 retools (Final Battle Jazz and Stealth Bumblebee), 9 mass retail redecos, 1 mass Japanese-only retail redeco, 4 mass retail Screen Battles redecos (one of them very minor), plus 7 store exclusive redecos, plus 3 Japanese convention exclusive redecos (plus 3 Japanese-only mass retail variants if you count them).

    Voyagers:

7 original molds, plus 2 retools (Evac and Thundercracker), plus 5 mass retail redecos, plus 6 store exclusive redecos (2 more upcoming), plus 1 Japanese store exclusive redeco (plus 1 Japanese-only mass retail variant if you count it).

    Leaders:

3 original molds, plus 1 retool (Premium Optimus Prime), plus 3 redecos (plus 2 Japanese-only mass retail variants if you count them).

    Ultimate:

    1 original mold.

    Fast Action Battlers:

11 original molds, plus 8 redecos.

Cyber Slammers: 8 original molds, plus 2 redecos.

Cyber Stompin' Robots: 2 original molds.

    Robot Replicas:

    6 original molds, plus 2 Wal*Mart exclusive redecos (sold as a two-pack).

    Plus:

12 Target exclusive redecos of Energon and Cybertron Scouts (3 more upcoming).

7 Wal*Mart exclusive redecos of Cybertron and Classics Deluxes.

2 Toys'R'Us exclusive redecos of Armada and Cybertron Voyagers.

2 Toys'R'Us exclusive redecos of Cybertron Ultras.

As you can see, there can be several different results you can achieve depending on how you count. (Do multi-packs count as one or two toys? What if the same toys were also available individually?)

Wow. That makes the movie 2 line seem small.

Though odds are there'll be more new molds in the line (and that they could still do unplanned repaints).

It may be smaller... but I suspect possibly more new molds. And if retailers demand them, more repaints.
