i feel silly fpr admitting it, but the way the windshield opens (it's movie accurate) is what blows me away and makes me want this even more.
    this is a must have.

I don't feel this is any better than Grimlock, who is far and away my favorite MP. I'll put this money toward the e-hobby six-pack for now, and wait for better reviews or maybe wait to see it in person at Botcon.

I'm actually a little bit upset about the limited pelvic articulation that seems to be going on here. That "block" covering up the pelvis doesn't seem to move...

Wait, really? Hot Rod just faces inward underneath the trailer? Which means maybe 80% of the winnabago IS the trailer... hmm.

I gotta say, I think its neat and all, but the Protector trailer (which I have yet to recieve, so no comparison at all really) has got more love from me at the moment.

    Question

I am still in the grey when it comes to the details of the MP-09 Rodimus Prime. Does he convert from Hot Rod to Rodimus, which that is what I am thinking. Or are they two separate pieces in one package.

^They're the same figure. His face changes to look older, his hips transform a little bit to make him a little taller, his spoiler squeezes together to simulate broader shoulders and his gun combine to make a rifle. I think that's about all the differences. I'm sure if it isn't, somebody else would fill in the missing parts.

I really wish I were more impressed with this figure....

Just not feeling it that much.

I will probably be more excited when there is an actual review up, and/or I see it in person.

I'm pretty sure his spoiler also can go up a little for even more height.

No need to be upset, it does fold up. It shouldn't restrict his leg articulation at all. Check out the bottom, right of this picture:

It does, enough so you can have him kneeling like the scene in "The Burden Hardest To Bear".

Man, I just got to say it, This is possibly the worst MP. Sometimes being G1, cartoon accurate is not a good thing. I cant see myself spending money on this at all. Maybe only because it is rodimus in mp form I'll maybe pick it up, but I doubt it.

I may wait for the Hasbro release. Yeah, I know it lacks the trailer, but.....whatever. Just occurred to me that a Daniel figure that sits in the driver's seat may be one of the exclusive accessories that comes with the Hasbro version, lol. Someone has probably said that in this thread already though.

I'm leaning that way too. I always liked Hot Rod, the car, more than Rodimus the..big boat thingie, anyways.

I respect people's perspective on certain things. But I strongly disagree with you on the worst masterpiece statement. Besides my bias of Rodimus Prime being my favorite character I can see outside the box. I can't say for sure that it's the best MP until I can have it in my hand. But I'm confident that it's going to be better than previous masterpieces. I've said this in other topics could you have imagine this only a couple months ago, Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime both vehicle and robot mode? Would it have been probable? Cause I'm sure most of the people if not all that participated in the masterpiece thread didn't think it was.

I respectfully disagree with you on that statement.

Its cool. I get the feeling that I'm one of the few who dont like it. Who knows, I've eaten my words before. As it stands, from what I've seen of this, I just really dont like it..at the moment.

I think it's the best thus far. The only contenders being the Seeker mold and Grimlock, and this one out does both of those in every way.
