I read on tfwiki that they came to Earth during the Stone Age, him and the Autobot Pretenders defended the early man, was it long after the Maximals and Predacons had left Earth for Cybertron? The Autobots Pretenders where they those Autobots that left Cybertron during the early days of the war? If the were on Earth why didn't they help Optimus Prime and the Autobots to defeat the Decepticons?

    Thanks alot

Because Japanese TF continuity makes no sense. The writers of Masterforce took almost no notice of anything that came before it and made no effort to try and build off of it. Other than a couple token references to previous characters, it might as well have been an entirely brand new continuity.

Only years later has Takara gone back and tried to retcon in bridges between series and excuses for inconsistencies and flat-out contradictions. At the time the shows were coming out, they didn't really care. Japanese TF was aimed at a very young, undiscerning audience who wouldn't have cared even if they had noticed.

The Masterforce characters only came to Earth a few thousand years ago, whereas the Beast Wars occurred... well, there have been conflicting dates, but in Japanese continuity, it was three million years ago, so there was a substantial gap (even the lowest time estimate, courtesy of IDW's comics, places BW 70,000 years ago). Consequently, the Pretenders didn't leave Cybertron especially EARLY in the war - it would have been during the four-million-year absence of Prime and Megatron that they left the planet.

Why they didn't help out during the G1 cartoon is one of those things that they have yet to invent a retroactive explanation for. I'm sort of hoping the new Pretender comic strip in the upcoming Generation 2012 book might tackle this subject!

I imagine if they ever do something to cover that time period, it'll be case of revealing that they DID help, and it as all just in offscreen adventures we never saw.

Like that Lion King 3 (or 'one and a half' depending on what your country titled it) film showed where Timon and Pumbaa were helping drive the main first story even if we didn't originally see them doing it. :p

I think we all need to remember that Masterforce came out LONG BEFORE Beast Wars, so it`s not like it could plan for it.

Not to mention BW was based on a loose combination of various G1 continunities.

But, as has been said, BW takes place before modern humans evolved while the Pretenders showed up once early modern humans existed.

You mean they left Cybertron in search for their respective leaders? Meanining Metalhawk was around at the time of Prime's departure?

They'll also have to explain why Earth culture, fashions, technology, architecture, etc., all regressed by decades from the end of "Transformers 2010" back to 1980s style as seen in Masterforce, which is actually supposed to be further in the future. And why everyone on Earth in the Masterforce series acts like they've never heard of Destrons or Transformers in general before.

What happened to the world of the future?

As for why they didn't go to the Ark before 1984. Cybertron didn't know where the Ark was. If they knew it was on Earth, someone would have mounted a rescue mission.

Maybe, maybe not. They may have just left the planet to get away, the same way Fortress Maximus's Autobots, or the Autobots who founded Paradron did. On the other hand, the small Japanese toyline called "Micromaster" featured a bunch of Autobots who left the planet to specifically search for Optimus Prime, so they could have been doing that as well.

And yes, there's going to be a new one-shot comic strip published in the upcoming Japanese guidebook "Transformers Generations 2012" that's going to be about the Pretenders.

I think they did meet up with prime and had adventures we never saw around s2 of the show. Maybe they went on stealth missions. I think the autobots ordered them to stay on earth after headmasters in case the decepticons returned.

Shame we didn't get more backstory.
