I've been writing this fan fiction for a little while, and I've finally decided to post it. I also have another one I'm writing and posting right now, so as a result this one may experience a delay in the addition of the next chapter, but I'll try to keep on top of things! :D  This is the beginning of my own continuity, which I have decided to name "Legacy". I have an entire universe planned out, and even a Wreckers special! At first though, it will probably just be getting the world established.  Happy reading! :D

    Chapter 1
    The Beginning

Josephine heard the roaring of jet engines over her head. She looked up out the windshield of her car and saw a military-styled fighter jet. What’s that doing around here? She thought. The jet quickly flew in front of her, but once it got to the front of a line of cars on the highway plates on it started to shift and spin. Soon the entire jet was just a jumble of metallic plates all moving and locking into place. This all occurred in a matter of seconds before a tall, lean robot was standing in the middle of the road.

There goes my afternoon. She though as the robot took out the first car with its fist and screamed, “Pathetic insects! You dare not yield to Slipstream! I’ll teach you!” It then cut a second vehicle in half with a wickedly sharp looking blade that converted from its hand.

She heard the car before she saw it. It was speeding up the highway towards the metal beast.
“No! It’ll crush you!” she screamed out the window at the car. But it didn’t stop; instead it drove straight toward the towering brute. Before it could hit the robot, the car too “transformed” into a giant robot, smaller than the jet-robot, but still very large.

The yellow car-robot slammed into the jet-robot, Slipstream, and knocked her off her feet. Before the car-robot hit the ground it morphed its hand into a cannon, and the other hand was converted into a pointed weapon that was laced with electricity. It jabbed the “stinger” into Slipstream and the result was electrifying! Slipstream was electrocuted, her optics flashed, and she seemed to be having a sort of spasm.

Can robots even have spasms? Apparently. When Slipstream recovered from her shock she spun on her back and swung her legs, knocking the car-robots out from under him, “You thought you stingers could actually hurt me, Bumblebee? Nice try, scout!”

Bumblebee just glared at her. If looks could kill… Josephine thought with a slight chuckle. However, she noticed something Slipstream hadn’t, Bumblebee’s gun was charging up, and Josephine could guess what was going to happen next…

Slipstream started to approach Bumblebee, but before she could get too close Bumblebee raised his arm and shot Slipstream on her right shoulder. Slipstream must have been ready for such an attack, because she recovered quickly from the blow and aimed her Null Rays at Bumblebee. She fired on him and knocked him back into some trees that were on the edge of the highway. The trees were ripped out of the ground by the impact and they laid in a mess on the ground, some even blocking the road.

Bumblebee was a tough Autobot, and he ran at Slipstream with his plasma cannon firing at Slipstream on his right arm, and his stinger activated on his left. Slipstream realized that the fight wasn’t going the way she had wanted it to, so she jumped into the air, performed a flip as she converted back into her jet mode and flew off.

Bumblebee had noticed Josie watching the fight, even though all the other humans had left the scene.

There’s something special about this one, he thought. He approached her, and as he did he converted his weapons away.

Josie looked up at Bumblebee’s face and said, “What are you?”

Bumblebee responded with a lot of static, but Josie could hear a scratchy voice say, “You’ll find out,” under the static. Then Bumblebee transformed back into his muscle car mode and opened his driver-side door. Josephine knew that meant she was supposed to get in. She ran over to her car, grabbed her stuff out of it (she never really kept much in it), threw it into Bumblebee’s back seat, and climbed into the driver’s seat.

Bumblebee began driving off once Josie had put her seat belt on. The edges of the highway were mostly trees, so she didn’t have much to look at outside the windows, but inside was much more interesting anyway.

Bumblebee’s dashboard was covered in high-tech sensors and dials. Dull red lights surrounded every gauge and button. In the center of his steering wheel was a silver Autobot faction symbol, just like the red one on Bumblebee’s hood.

When Bumblebee drove onto a side street, it was still daylight. As he drove down winding roads, each one going in a different direction, the sky began to get dark. Before long, night had completely fallen, and Bumblebee had to turn on his headlights. Josephine had gotten tired, and the movement of Bumblebee’s car mode made her tired. She looked at the clock on Bumblebee’s stereo, and it read 11:37 PM.

Well, I don’t have to concentrate on driving, Josie thought with a yawn. Bumblebee turned his radio on and quietly played calming music. Before long, she was asleep, her head resting on the back of her seat.

Bumblebee continued driving for a long time. Finally, he came to the side of a mountain; he stayed idle next to it for a moment, then the mountain split in half and began to slide open. It was a pair of large doors. Bumblebee drove inside, and the doors closed behind him.

After driving through a short, metal tunnel, Bumblebee came into a large chamber. There other Autobots stood. One that was red and white was working on a computer console; another that was only red was over in a corner working on his weapons, which were to huge cannons on either of his arms. A third Autobot that was white, with some red and blue stripes stood next to the red-Autobot. The largest of the group, who was colored red and blue, had noticed Bumblebee’s arrival.

“Bumblebee, how did it go?” he asked.

The noise of the red-Autobot working on his weapons, and the other Autobot speaking must have woken Josie up. Bumblebee had opened his door and she walked out yawning and not fully awake yet.

The red and white-Autobot jumped at the sight of her, “Bumblebee! You brought back a human!”

Once again, Bumblebee spoke, but his words were only barely audible over the static, “Obviously, she had seen my entire fight with Slipstream. There’s something different about this huma…” His voice had cut out at the end.

The largest of the Autobots kneeled down next to a surprised Josephine and introduced him and the others, “I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. The others here are my medical officer, Ratchet,” he gestured to the red and white-Autobot, “My weapons specialist, Ironhide,” the red-Autobot gave a grunt, “and my first lieutenant, Jazz.” The white, red, and blue-Autobot smiled and nodded in Josie’s direction.

“H-hi,” she said to them in a small voice.

Bumblebee, who had remained in car mode, transformed as she said that, her stuff that had been in the back seat ending up in his hand, and he set it down next to her. He then walked over to Ratchet, who started working on his vocal processor.

Josephine voiced her earlier question then, “W-what are you?”

Optimus responded by saying, “We are sentient robotic organisms from another planet, called Cybertron. We can assume the shape of any technological device we choose.”

Optimus went on, “We have come to your planet hunting the Decepticons; evil Cybertronians who wish to create ‘peace through tyranny’, as their leader, Megatron, says. We Autobots fight for freedom, but lately it has been a difficult war…” His voice trailed off.

Josephine had thought it would be unwise to ask more. Instead she changed the subject of the conversation, “So… what about me? Am I going to go back home, or do I have to stay here; and what about my car? I had to leave it behind…”

“You should stay here for the time being, and then we will send you home with Autobot protection. Bumblebee,” he looked away from Ratchet at Optimus Prime, “You will be her guardian from now on. You will have to accompany her home tomorrow.”

“So I have to spend the night here?”

“That would be best. I’ll send Ironhide and Jazz out to monitor your home town and make sure more Decepticons like Slipstream aren’t lurking nearby,” with that Optimus turned at Ironhide and Jazz and nodded. They both transformed; Ironhide into a large SUV, and Jazz into a small sports car. They drove off to the tunnel and out of sight.

Josie walked over to her stuff, picked it up and looked up at the Autobots and asked, “Where should I sleep?”

In response to that Bumblebee transformed, opened his door, and made the driver’s seat move forward, revealing the bench seat in the back.

“Alrighty then,” she said and climbed into Bumblebee. Once she was inside Bumblebee closed the door and drove to a different, quieter area of the base.

    Chapter 2

Thanks guys! Here's the next chapter!:)
    Chapter 2

Josephine woke up in Bumblebee’s back seat and wondered where she was. How had I fallen asleep in the back of my car? She wondered. The she looked at the dashboard and realized that she was not in her car. Then it all came flooding back to her.

Bumblebee must have noticed she had awoken, because he had been driving back to the main room of the Autobot base as she was remembering this. He halted in the center of the room and opened his door to allow her to climb clumsily out. Optimus Prime was standing a short distance away and Josie looked up at him and asked:

    “So I’m going home now?”

“Yes, Ironhide and Jazz came back earlier, before you awoke, and reported no Decepticon activity last night. Bumblebee will still be accompanying you home, but otherwise we urge you to live your life like you always have.”

“What if my friends ask where I got the sweet new ride from?” she knew her friends would ask, and she really didn’t what that pressure to be put on her.

“You appear to be bright, I’m sure you will be able to think of something.”

Great, she thought as she walked back to Bumblebee. She climbed into his driver’s seat and he closed the door. As he drove off, Optimus Prime said a farewell:

“Guard her, Bumblebee, but stay safe yourself...”

    ***

The ride to Josie’s house was much shorter than the one to the Autobot base. She hated working so far away from home; it took her far too long to get to and from work.

When Bumblebee pulled up in the driveway, Josie took the garage remote out of her purse and used it to open the door.

Once the garage door was closed, and Josie had taken her things out of Bumblebee’s back seat, he transformed into his robot mode. He had to crouch a lot, but he still fit.

“So… what now?” he said in his hoarse voice under the prevalent static.

I’m going to go see if some of my friends have free schedules today, and I’ll plan it from that. I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to stay in here,” she said as she gave him a look of sympathy. She put her hand on his cold, metallic cheek and gave him a sympathetic pat.

“We’ll hang out some other time. I promise,” and with that she was about to walk through the door that connected the garage to the rest of the house, but instead she turned back to Bumblebee, sighed, and said:

“How about I just go put my things inside, then we can go out for a drive?” Bumblebee perked up significantly at those words.

In a few moments Josephine had walked back out the door, locked it, and walked towards Bumblebee, who had converted back into his muscle car mode. Once she was inside, his engine roared to life, and the red lights lit up around his dashboard instruments. She had opened the garage door before she got in Bumblebee, so he had pulled out as soon as she had her seat belt on.

Bumblebee had rolled down his windows, and the wind blew past Josephine, diffusing her long hair in all directions. She had her hands on his steering wheel, but Bumblebee was doing all the driving. She just had to make his disguise look convincing. The red clock on the dashboard read 11:48 AM, plenty of time for Bumblebee to enjoy his freedom, and for Josie to enjoy riding in such an awesome car!

Unfortunately, Bumblebee couldn’t talk while he was in vehicle mode, so Josie didn’t have someone to talk to, but Bumblebee’s company was good enough for her. Josie hadn’t turned on the radio, so the only sound was the wind rushing through the open window. Bumblebee weaved his way through many side streets, some led through thickly wooded forests; another ran by a large river.

There wasn’t much traffic on the roads that day, so for the most part it was just Josie and Bumblebee.

By the time they pulled back into Josie’s garage, it was 5:26 PM, according to Bumblebee’s dashboard clock. Tomorrow, which was Sunday; she would take her friends for a ride in “her new car”. That way Bumblebee wouldn’t be so lonely. She hated the thought of leaving him all alone; it wasn’t exactly his choice to become her guardian. The least Josie could do was not leave him all by himself.

    Chapter 3

    Thanks! Here's the next one!
    Chapter 3

Back at the Autobot base, Jazz had just returned from patrol.

“No Decepticons sighted yet, Prime. Don’t worry; I’m sure Bumblebee will be able to hold his own against any enemy. He’s one tough little Autobot!” Optimus had been voicing his worries about Bumblebee since he had left, and Jazz had been one of the first to notice.

“Bumblebee is our scout for a reason, Prime. He knows what he’s getting into. Don’t forget, he drove Slipstream away single-handedly! That’s gotta count for something!”

“Yes, Jazz, You are correct on that account. I should not be so worried. Bumblebee is a brave soldier; he will protect the human girl, Josephine, well. His disguise will be all the more convincing with a real driver.”

With that Jazz turned away and walked to another room, he thought it would be best to leave Optimus Prime with his thoughts.

    ***

Josephine had invited her friends, Samuel and Alexander, for a ride in her new car the next day. Luckily, neither of them asked where she had gotten it from, but it was only a matter of time before they did. Alex was riding shotgun, and Sam was in the bench in the back. When she had told Bumblebee in the morning he had seemed ecstatic! He must have been glad to have so much company, even if they can’t know he exists.

Josie and her friends were talking when one of them noticed a strange sight; a military-like communications truck was speeding down the road towards them. It was a dark blue-gray and had antennas and a satellite dish on top. There was a spare tire on one side.

The truck drove up next to Bumblebee and kept a constant speed with him. It quickly overtook Bumblebee and when it was just in front of him it transformed into a monstrous Decepticon. It had a red-colored visor instead of eyes, and once he had finished converting a mouth plate slid over. The Decepticon’s name: Soundwave.

Bumblebee transformed quickly and Josie and her friends ended up in his hands. He set them down and drew his plasma cannons. Soundwave drew a shotgun to go with the cannon on his right shoulder.

With no exchanged words the two Cybertronians began firing on each other. Bumblebee fired one shot and performed a back flip into a ditch on the side of the road. From that point he was more protected, and fired again on Soundwave. The blast struck him on the left shoulder, and Soundwave fired a retaliating blast that destroyed the guard rain between the ditch Bumblebee was hiding in and the road.

From behind his cover, Bumblebee deactivated the plasma cannon on his right arm, and replaced it with one of his stingers. He shot one blast again at the large Decepticon, and leaped out from behind his ditch. He buried his stinger into a gap in Soundwave’s armor, causing the same effect it had on Slipstream.

He recovered faster than Bumblebee had expected, and grabbed Bumblebee’s leg, knocking him off his feet. Then he aimed his shoulder cannon at the Autobot, and charged it up to fire. Bumblebee used the slow charging time to his advantage, and fired his plasma cannon, causing Soundwave to shoot at the sky.

Bumblebee activated his built-in communications radio and sent out for back up from Autobot base. He would have to hold against Soundwave until they could arrive. The two Cybertronians dueled ferociously; Bumblebee gracefully dodging most of Soundwave’s attacks and Soundwave not being affected by Bumblebee’s. The other Autobots would have to arrive soon to turn the tide of the battle.

A car drove along the empty road the battle was on, and Soundwave picked it up and hurled it at Bumblebee. Bumblebee managed to catch it and set in back down on the road in one fluid motion. Soundwave used that momentary distraction to launch himself at Bumblebee. Bumble bee managed to stick his stinger into Soundwave again before he could make contact, and he was sent into spasms once again.

The fight had been going on for a very long time. Josie checked her watch and it said 7:49 PM. Night was beginning to fall.

Bumblebee noticed this as well, and turned on his car headlights, which were on his chest. This gave him two advantages; being able to see better, and temporarily blinding Soundwave. His optics had been adjusted for darkness, so the bright light surprised Soundwave.

Then a brighter light appeared behind Bumblebee. The light moved around, sometimes being blocked, until it was much higher off the ground. Ironhide had come to assist Bumblebee.

Realizing he was outnumbered, Soundwave converted back into vehicle mode and drove off. He had failed in his mission; he hadn’t captured one of the humans, as Megatron had instructed.

Ironhide walked up to Bumblebee, who had walked back to where the three humans had hidden in the tree line.

“Bumblebee, what were you thinking! Engaging an enemy on your own! You could have gotten you and the humans killed!” he shouted at the scout.

Bumblebee replied with, “It was either engage, or crash into him. I chose option one!”

“It’s alright Bumblebee. Next time though, call for back up as soon as you see something suspicious.”

Bumblebee gave Ironhide a silent salute to show he understood. He didn’t like to push his vocal processor more than he had to.

“Now, let’s take these humans back to base. These other two have seen us; we must protect them as well.” With that Ironhide transformed back into his SUV mode, and opened the door for one of them to get in. Sam took that option, while the other two climbed back into Bumblebee.

    Chapter 4

Thanks! Here's (finally) the next chapter! :D
    Chapter 4
Ironhide pulled into the Autobot base first, followed by Bumblebee. Optimus Prime looked at the pair as their doors opened and the three humans stepped out.

“What happened?” Optimus asked Ironhide when he converted into his robot mode.

“Well,” he said in his rough voice, “Bumblebee met up with Soundwave while these three humans were going for a drive with him.” As he said that Bumblebee transformed and walked over to Ratchet, who began to work on his vocal processors again.

Optimus sighed, “So these others saw the fight?”

    “Yes, Prime.”

“Then we must protect them as well, the Decepticons are getting more reckless; we must keep the humans here at base for now. Ironhide, you will guard the one that came in you. Jazz,” Jazz looked up, “You will be the other’s guardian.”

“Aye, Prime!” Ironhide replied. Jazz simply nodded in assent.

“So we’re going to have to stay here for how long, exactly?” Samuel asked.

Optimus replied, “For as long as we deem necessary, we cannot allow any of you to be harmed because of our war. The Decepticons have seen you; Soundwave records everything he sees. The Decepticons will believe you to be working with us and will attack you if we allow you to leave our immediate sight.”

“Where will we sleep?” Josie asked.

“There are rooms all over our facility. Sometimes your military stayed with us in times of great peril. Those areas should be sufficient. Bumblebee will show you the way.” Bumblebee moved his arm in a sign that said, “This way,” and the three humans followed, Josie grabbing her purse before following.

Bumblebee pointed them into a small room off of the main hall of the base. Josie said a quick, “Thanks, Bee,” and followed the others inside. The inside of the room had four doors that led to other, even smaller rooms with beds that came out of the wall.

    “So,” Alex said, “What now?”

Sam replied by saying, “I guess we just hang out here for now; the Autobots said it’s too dangerous for us to be out there at this time. They’re probably right… After seeing Bumblebee fight off that Decepticon, and what the Decepticon could do, I don’t blame them…”

Josie added to the conversation by saying, “Trust me, the Autobots can be trusted. If they say we can’t leave here for a while, then I’m going to listen.”

Sam walked towards one of the other rooms and said, “Well, it’s been a long day, I’m turning in. Wake me up when more impending robot carnage erupts.”

With that the other two followed suit, going into two of the other three vacant rooms.

    Chapter 5

    Thanks! Here's chapter five!
    Chapter 5

The three humans woke up, still in the Autobot base, early in the morning. Apparently Bumblebee’s voice was acting up again, and the noise was piercing. Worst of all, Bumblebee couldn’t help it; his vocal processor just did that sometimes. Usually it worked well, not perfect, but you could hear what he was saying under the static. Sometimes the static became extremely loud and irritating. That was one of those times.

When Josie walked into the main room, Ratchet was operating on him. It didn’t take long before he put a stop to the noise, but now Bumblebee couldn’t make any sound at all. Josie walked up the Autobot scout and laid a hand on his foot; the only part of him she could reach without stretching. This did a little to improve his mood, but Josie still felt bad for him.

Ratchet continued to operate on Bumblebee, and seemed to be making some progress; Bumblebee could now speak in series of small clicks. Ratchet had informed everybody that it would take a while for him to fully repair Bumblebee’s vocal processor, but it would get done. Until then Bumblebee would simply not be allowed to use it unless absolutely necessary; Ratchet didn’t want any more strain put on it.

“It’s all right, Bee, I’ll stay by you till you can talk again,” Josie said as she patted his hand, which was resting on the ground, “Maybe we can go for another drive later; you can’t talk when you’re in vehicle mode anyway…” Her voice trailed off as Optimus Prime strode into the room.

“I am afraid I cannot allow that, Josephine. The Decepticons will be looking for both you and Bumblebee. I cannot allow either of you to be placed in harm’s way,” he said. Even thou8gh his reasons were just, Josie didn’t like the consequences.

Optimus turned and walked back away. He walked down the long hallway that held all the different rooms in the Autobot facility. He turned into one that seemed to be a type of garage, and found Jazz to be idling in vehicle mode inside.

When Optimus Prime had entered the room Jazz converted into his robot mode and greeted his good friend, “What’s up, Op?

Jazz, Optimus’s oldest and most trusted friend, held exclusive right to refer to his leader so informally, and Optimus never minded.

“Jazz, the humans; we can’t keep them locked up in here forever, but we cannot allow them to leave. It’s too dangerous.”

“Optimus,” Jazz said, walking over to and leaning on a table that came out of the wall, “You can’t save everybody; let Ironhide, Bumblebee, and me go with the humans. We’ll take good care of them; we care just as much as you do. Heck, Bumblebee even took on Soundwave, and he’s still fully functional! Well, except for that voice problem…”

“You may be right, but one more Decepticon incursion centered on the humans and you all head straight back here, understood?”

“Aye aye, O. P.!” Jazz said with a grin on his robotic face.

    ***

Optimus Prime informed Ironhide, Bumblebee, and the humans of what he was planning; they would be allowed to leave, but they would have to come back at the first sign of Decepticons. Ironhide seemed the least pleased at this revelation:

“Why can’t we just fight them? I know I am more than a match form a few Decepticons…”

“You may be, but your human partner, Samuel, is not; we don’t want to risk the lives of the humans any more than necessary.”

With that word the three Autobot guardians converted into their robot modes, and the three humans walked to them and got in their respective guardian’s front seats. Alex was seeing the inside of Jazz for the first time, and he was amazed. It was much like Bumblebee’s, with the dull red lights around the instruments, but there were also many differences. Jazz had surround-sound speakers everywhere; even on the roof. Also unlike Bumblebee, Jazz had a sunroof, which Alex opened as soon as they were out in the open air. It was a nice day; the sun was out, and the clouds drifted lazily by…

Sam was glad to be back inside of Ironhide. He too, was different from the Autobots as far as the interior was concerned. He had the red lights that were the characteristic of all the Autobots, but he also had another device; a laptop computer hooked up via wires into the dashboard. In this way Ironhide could “talk” to Sam. He would say something to the Autobot, and Ironhide would respond with words on the screen of the laptop, which Sam would then read and reply to.

“So,” Sam said, “What’s Earth like, from your point of view?”

Words appeared on the screen saying:

It is not too bad, nothing like Cybertron, of course, but I do enjoy your human taste in automobiles.

    With that the engine roared.

“What’s Cybertron like?” Sam inquired on.

It is much larger than your planet. The entire surface is composed of various metal materials. Once it was much more of a sight than it is now, but the war has changed that…

I wasn’t always an Autobot, you know. I used to operate for the Cybertronian Defense military. That organization became the Decepticon faction. I was naïve and believed that the Decepticons were doing nothing wrong, that they were the same good Cybertronians I had served with…

Ironhide waited a while before continuing:

That was before I realized what they were doing. It had always been a choice, to join the service, but after the Decepticon ideals were corrupted, they tried recruiting an army, but not every Cybertronian would comply. When that happened things got nasty. The Decepticons would kill any civilian that wouldn’t join. I didn’t know of those events occurring, until I saw it with my own optics…

I was assigned with a few others to go around and recruit new Cybertronians for the military. I was the one who they told to ask the innocent Cybertronians to join, but they were the ones who dealt with the ones who wouldn’t. The first place we stopped at was an area in Kaon. Now, I had heard bad things about that place, but we were on the outskirts where everybody was generally friendly; not like further into the city, where gladiatorial matches were hosted…

I had requested one tall, burly Cybertronian to join, and he declined. That was fine by me, but apparently not with my comrades. They walked up to him, picked him up, and slammed him into the ground. When that didn’t work things got real bad; they cocked their energy weapons, and they each took a shot. First they started by shooting up his torso, but leaving his Spark alone so he would feel every second of the pain leading up to his death. Eventually, when the pain must have been unbearable enough, my “allies” ripped him apart, limb from limb. Finally, they decided they had had enough fun and decided to end it right there. They shot the innocent Cybertronian right through his armored skull. He never stood a chance…

That was when I turned to Sentinel Prime and requested I be able to join the Autobots; he complied. I was branded with a new faction symbol. I no longer belonged to the Cybertronian Defense, now I was an Autobot, and proud of it!

Sam just sat in the driver’s seat for a short while in silence. He had no idea Ironhide had been through so much. He had seen who he thought were his allies turn against him, had watched them completely disregard life. It must have been horrible…

    Chapter 6

Thanks! I'm trying to add a little bit of back story into these next few chapters! You'll like this one, Jazzfan0217! :D
    Chapter 6

Alex pulled Jazz up the driveway of his house and pushed the button of the garage remote that he kept in his pocket. Jazz then drove into the garage and Alex closed to door with another push of the button. Alex stepped out of Jazz’s driver side door, and Jazz transformed. He was slightly smaller than Bumblebee, and Alex’s garage was slightly bigger than Josie’s, so Jazz didn’t have to duck as much to avoid hitting the roof.

“So, what’s the game plan for today?” Jazz asked.

“Well, since it’s a bit late I’m going to get something to eat then I’m going to bed. We’ll do something fun tomorrow, I promise.” Alex replied.

“Would you be able to eat in here? I like the company…” Jazz’s voice drifted as he said that.

“Sure thing, big guy!” Jazz smiled when Alex said that.

Alex walked inside and threw some microwaveable macaroni and cheese into the microwave and leaned against the counter to wait. When the bell rang he took it out of the microwave, grabbed a fork, and walked out to the garage.

Jazz watched as Alex walked over to a table that was always set up in the garage and sat down in the chair that faced Jazz.

    “What’s that?” Jazz inquired.

    “Macaroni,” Alex answered.

    “What does it taste like?”

“Uh… I don’t really know how to explain it in terms you would understand… Sorry buddy…”

“No problem, man!” Jazz said. It was near impossible to bring his spirits down.

Alex ate in silence for a little while. When he was done he tried to get another conversation started:

“So… how long have you known Optimus Prime?”

Jazz looked up at the ceiling as if remembering a time from long ago.

“Pretty much for as long as either of us can remember; I’ve been Optimus’s friend since before he was a Prime… Back when he was just a data clerk back on Cybertron.”

“So Optimus hasn’t always been called Optimus Prime?” Alex’s curiosity was piqued.

“No, Optimus was chosen to be Prime by the Cybertronian High Council. He and Megatron had approached the council to stop the caste system and bring an end to the war. The Autobots and Decepticons were quickly running out of resources; each faction had taken the Energon and hidden it on other planets while the Space Bridges were still fully functional. As such, Cybertron couldn’t create enough Energon to fuel my fellow Cybertronians or our weapons, and Megatron and Optimus wanted to put a stop to it,” Jazz said.

“Optimus and I hadn’t joined the Autobots yet, so we were still living our lives as they had been before the war. You see, we had lived in the great city of Iacon so the war hadn’t reached us yet. When Optimus appeared before the High Council they were impressed. The Prime at the time, Sentinel, hadn’t been seen in some time. Many believed him killed by the Decepticons. I knew better, they were just keeping him prisoner for use as ransom in the future.

“Well, since Sentinel hadn’t been seen, and the Autobots needed a strong leader to rally behind, the Council chose Optimus. He wasn’t technically Prime until Sentinel had died and the Matrix had been passed onto to him, but politically he was Optimus Prime. Since Optimus now commanded the Autobots, we both were branded with their faction symbol and were put into the war. A war whose ending I hope is near…

    “Any other questions?” Jazz asked.

    “What’s the Matrix?” Alex said.

“I don’t think I’m the best Autobot to tell you about that. Why don’t you ask Optimus that question someday; he knows more about it than I do!”

“Alright, so, I’m going to go to bed, I’ll see you in the morning, Jazz!” Alex said with a yawn.

“Yeah buddy, I can tell you’re tired, go get some rest and we can have some fun in the morning!”

With that word Alex walked up to the door that lead from the garage to the main house and turned around to Jazz:

“Goodnight Jazz!” he shouted out before he walked inside.

I'm starting to write again... and I plan for some Decepticon development soon! :D  Next chapter centers around Bumblebee and Josie again, then the chapter after that will get some Decepticon development.

    Chapter 7

Here's the next chapter, with and ending you won't expect:
    Chapter 7

Josie was glad to be back in her own home, with Bumblebee by her side of course. Sadly, Bumblebee couldn’t enter the main house; he was simply too large, instead he had to stay in the garage. Josie hated leaving Bumblebee alone, but sometimes it had to be done. She couldn’t just ignore the rest of her life since the Autobot was now involved in it. She still had her job, for example. Bumblebee drove her to and from there every week day, and on the weekends she had promised they would hang out.

It had been about a week since she left the Autobot base, and this was her and Bumblebee’s first weekend together. She woke up early that day, and before she had even gotten dressed she headed to her garage.

She walked through the door, still in her pajamas, to see Bumblebee right where she had left him; sitting idle in his sports car mode.

“Bee!” she yelled at him, “I’m all yours today!”

Bumblebee converted into his robot mode at that point and fist-pounded the air to show his excitement; his vocal processor still wasn’t functioning well.

“I’ll just go inside and get changed, and then we can do whatever you want,” she told him before heading inside.

Josie walked up the stairs and into her room to get changed. She approached her closet and picket out an orange button-down, short-sleeved shirt. She took off her pajama shirt, put on a bra, and after putting her arms into the sleeves she began to button up the shirt. Next she made her way over to her dresser; after pulling up a new pair of underwear she put on a pair of shorts, it was supposed to be a usual summer day.

On her way downstairs she grabbed a red baseball cap off the rack and pulled her ponytail through the opening in the back. Before she opened the door to the garage she grabbed a pair of sunglasses and her spare house key; she didn’t need her car keys anymore!

She entered the garage and closed the locked door behind her before turning to Bumblebee, who was still in robot mode.

“So, Bee, what are we going to be up to today?” she said with a beaming smile.

Bumblebee transformed into his vehicle mode and revved his engine. Josie walked over to his driver-side door and opened it saying:

“I’m guessing I’ll find out then!” with a slight chuckle. Bumblebee drove out of the garage and started down the road. Since it was so nice out Josie decided to put the windows down and enjoy the breeze whipping her hair around her face. After a while of driving Josie looked in the rear-view window and saw nothing. She looked back in front of her and noticed when a bright green light came from behind her.

Bumblebee shifted into his alternate mode before Josie had gotten a chance to look behind her again. He threw her into the brush on the side of the road. Bumblebee drew his plasma cannons and fired on the Decepticon who had appeared; Soundwave, again.

This time though Soundwave was prepared; he ran up to the scout, grabbed his head and threw him to the ground. Then he drew a large hammer and smashed Bumblebee’s head back to the ground when he tried to pick himself up.

Soundwave continued to beat Bumblebee with the hammer. He tried getting onto his back, but Soundwave stopped him from doing that too. In between Soundwave’s blows he used the last strength in his vocal processors to force out, “Josie… run…” And so she did.

As Josie ran off deeper into the forest, which had been on the side of the road, hardly able to see through the tears that filled her eyes and ran silently down her cheeks, Soundwave hefted the hammer high above his head. He brought in down again on Bumblebee, and his optics flickered…

    Chapter 8

    Here's what happens to him:
    Chapter 8

Aboard the Decepticon warship, The Nemesis, which floated in high-Earth orbit, Megatron gazed at his prisoner. Bumblebee was chained to the ceiling of a high chamber. His optics were still black, and his body was severely mangled from Soundwave’s attack.

Megatron just stared at the Autobot scout, thinking about his plan. He was going to strike fear into the Autobot’s sparks…

Soundwave entered behind him and spoke in a robotic, menacing, emotionless voice, “Lord Megatron, I have brought you the instruments.”

“Thank you, Soundwave. You may leave,” Megatron growled as Soundwave bowed his way out.

Megatron made his way over to the rack Soundwave had brought. He selected a large, razor-edged knife, but replaced it back on the rack. Instead he converted his hand into a mace weapon.

“You Autobots are so brave… too bad I have to crush that spirit, scout!” With those words he charged at Bumblebee and landed a heavy blow to the Autobot’s chest. He struck blow after blow on Bumblebee, all the while the scout was none the wiser…

    ***

Back at the Autobot base Optimus Prime and Ratchet had just spoken to Josephine about what had happened to Bumblebee. She had arrived in Ironhide with Samuel, both of who had left shortly after dropping her off. The tears were still rolling down her face.

Ratchet turned to the computer monitor and performed another scan for Bumblebee’s life signal. The Nemesis had advanced shielding that guarded his signal from the Autobot’s sensors. Ratchet was surprised by something that had appeared on the screen.

“Optimus, Bumblebee’s life signal just reappeared. Not far from here either…”

“Thank you Ratchet, I will radio for Ironhide to return here and accompany you for pickup,” Optimus Prime then strode off into another room to make the call.

    ***

Ratchet and Ironhide returned shortly after they had left. Sam and Josie had been standing with Prime waiting for their return. Sam was holding Josie in his arms as she continued to cry over Bumblebee…

Ironhide and Ratchet transformed into their vehicle modes while the trailer that Ratchet had been pulling lifted to put Bumblebee into a better position for Ratchet to operate on. Unfortunately that also put him within view of Josephine…

What she saw only made her cry harder into Sam’s chest. Bumblebee’s optics were black and the plate that covered his mouth was dangling from a miniscule strip of metal. His right arm was bent so far back that it was nearly snapped off. One of the doors on his back was barely attached, and the other had a large chunk torn out of it. His left leg was also only just holding onto his hip…

Ratchet saw how much the sight upset Josie, and said what he hoped would comfort her, “I’ll do everything I can, and I’m sure he’ll pull through. Bumblebee’s one brave little scout, it would take a lot more than this to keep him out of the action…” Truthfully though, Ratchet wasn’t sure that was entirely true…
