I've been writing this fan fiction for a little while, and I've finally decided to post it. I also have another one I'm writing and posting right now, so as a result this one may experience a delay in the addition of the next chapter, but I'll try to keep on top of things! This is the beginning of my own continuity, which I have decided to name "Legacy". I have an entire universe planned out, and even a Wreckers special! At first though, it will probably just be getting the world established. Happy reading! Chapter 1 The Beginning Josephine heard the roaring of jet engines over her head. She looked up out the windshield of her car and saw a military-styled fighter jet. What’s that doing around here? She thought. The jet quickly flew in front of her, but once it got to the front of a line of cars on the highway plates on it started to shift and spin. Soon the entire jet was just a jumble of metallic plates all moving and locking into place. This all occurred in a matter of seconds before a tall, lean robot was standing in the middle of the road. There goes my afternoon. She though as the robot took out the first car with its fist and screamed, “Pathetic insects! You dare not yield to Slipstream! I’ll teach you!” It then cut a second vehicle in half with a wickedly sharp looking blade that converted from its hand. She heard the car before she saw it. It was speeding up the highway towards the metal beast. “No! It’ll crush you!” she screamed out the window at the car. But it didn’t stop; instead it drove straight toward the towering brute. Before it could hit the robot, the car too “transformed” into a giant robot, smaller than the jet-robot, but still very large. The yellow car-robot slammed into the jet-robot, Slipstream, and knocked her off her feet. Before the car-robot hit the ground it morphed its hand into a cannon, and the other hand was converted into a pointed weapon that was laced with electricity. It jabbed the “stinger” into Slipstream and the result was electrifying! Slipstream was electrocuted, her optics flashed, and she seemed to be having a sort of spasm. Can robots even have spasms? Apparently. When Slipstream recovered from her shock she spun on her back and swung her legs, knocking the car-robots out from under him, “You thought you stingers could actually hurt me, Bumblebee? Nice try, scout!” Bumblebee just glared at her. If looks could kill… Josephine thought with a slight chuckle. However, she noticed something Slipstream hadn’t, Bumblebee’s gun was charging up, and Josephine could guess what was going to happen next… Slipstream started to approach Bumblebee, but before she could get too close Bumblebee raised his arm and shot Slipstream on her right shoulder. Slipstream must have been ready for such an attack, because she recovered quickly from the blow and aimed her Null Rays at Bumblebee. She fired on him and knocked him back into some trees that were on the edge of the highway. The trees were ripped out of the ground by the impact and they laid in a mess on the ground, some even blocking the road. Bumblebee was a tough Autobot, and he ran at Slipstream with his plasma cannon firing at Slipstream on his right arm, and his stinger activated on his left. Slipstream realized that the fight wasn’t going the way she had wanted it to, so she jumped into the air, performed a flip as she converted back into her jet mode and flew off. Bumblebee had noticed Josie watching the fight, even though all the other humans had left the scene. There’s something special about this one, he thought. He approached her, and as he did he converted his weapons away. Josie looked up at Bumblebee’s face and said, “What are you?” Bumblebee responded with a lot of static, but Josie could hear a scratchy voice say, “You’ll find out,” under the static. Then Bumblebee transformed back into his muscle car mode and opened his driver-side door. Josephine knew that meant she was supposed to get in. She ran over to her car, grabbed her stuff out of it (she never really kept much in it), threw it into Bumblebee’s back seat, and climbed into the driver’s seat. Bumblebee began driving off once Josie had put her seat belt on. The edges of the highway were mostly trees, so she didn’t have much to look at outside the windows, but inside was much more interesting anyway. Bumblebee’s dashboard was covered in high-tech sensors and dials. Dull red lights surrounded every gauge and button. In the center of his steering wheel was a silver Autobot faction symbol, just like the red one on Bumblebee’s hood. When Bumblebee drove onto a side street, it was still daylight. As he drove down winding roads, each one going in a different direction, the sky began to get dark. Before long, night had completely fallen, and Bumblebee had to turn on his headlights. Josephine had gotten tired, and the movement of Bumblebee’s car mode made her tired. She looked at the clock on Bumblebee’s stereo, and it read 11:37 PM. Well, I don’t have to concentrate on driving, Josie thought with a yawn. Bumblebee turned his radio on and quietly played calming music. Before long, she was asleep, her head resting on the back of her seat. Bumblebee continued driving for a long time. Finally, he came to the side of a mountain; he stayed idle next to it for a moment, then the mountain split in half and began to slide open. It was a pair of large doors. Bumblebee drove inside, and the doors closed behind him. After driving through a short, metal tunnel, Bumblebee came into a large chamber. There other Autobots stood. One that was red and white was working on a computer console; another that was only red was over in a corner working on his weapons, which were to huge cannons on either of his arms. A third Autobot that was white, with some red and blue stripes stood next to the red-Autobot. The largest of the group, who was colored red and blue, had noticed Bumblebee’s arrival. “Bumblebee, how did it go?” he asked. The noise of the red-Autobot working on his weapons, and the other Autobot speaking must have woken Josie up. Bumblebee had opened his door and she walked out yawning and not fully awake yet. The red and white-Autobot jumped at the sight of her, “Bumblebee! You brought back a human!” Once again, Bumblebee spoke, but his words were only barely audible over the static, “Obviously, she had seen my entire fight with Slipstream. There’s something different about this huma…” His voice had cut out at the end. The largest of the Autobots kneeled down next to a surprised Josephine and introduced him and the others, “I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. The others here are my medical officer, Ratchet,” he gestured to the red and white-Autobot, “My weapons specialist, Ironhide,” the red-Autobot gave a grunt, “and my first lieutenant, Jazz.” The white, red, and blue-Autobot smiled and nodded in Josie’s direction. “H-hi,” she said to them in a small voice. Bumblebee, who had remained in car mode, transformed as she said that, her stuff that had been in the back seat ending up in his hand, and he set it down next to her. He then walked over to Ratchet, who started working on his vocal processor. Josephine voiced her earlier question then, “W-what are you?” Optimus responded by saying, “We are sentient robotic organisms from another planet, called Cybertron. We can assume the shape of any technological device we choose.” Optimus went on, “We have come to your planet hunting the Decepticons; evil Cybertronians who wish to create ‘peace through tyranny’, as their leader, Megatron, says. We Autobots fight for freedom, but lately it has been a difficult war…” His voice trailed off. Josephine had thought it would be unwise to ask more. Instead she changed the subject of the conversation, “So… what about me? Am I going to go back home, or do I have to stay here; and what about my car? I had to leave it behind…” “You should stay here for the time being, and then we will send you home with Autobot protection. Bumblebee,” he looked away from Ratchet at Optimus Prime, “You will be her guardian from now on. You will have to accompany her home tomorrow.” “So I have to spend the night here?” “That would be best. I’ll send Ironhide and Jazz out to monitor your home town and make sure more Decepticons like Slipstream aren’t lurking nearby,” with that Optimus turned at Ironhide and Jazz and nodded. They both transformed; Ironhide into a large SUV, and Jazz into a small sports car. They drove off to the tunnel and out of sight. Josie walked over to her stuff, picked it up and looked up at the Autobots and asked, “Where should I sleep?” In response to that Bumblebee transformed, opened his door, and made the driver’s seat move forward, revealing the bench seat in the back. “Alrighty then,” she said and climbed into Bumblebee. Once she was inside Bumblebee closed the door and drove to a different, quieter area of the base.
