Ok, so, I picked up my first set tonight to try these Kre-O things out. I picked Mirage because the price was reasonable (11.99) and his robot and car mode looked the best to me from the pics on the box, and.....

    I am hooked :rock

As others have said, I would get one of the cheaper ones and try it out for yourselves. I also think that people shouldn't put too much stock in how "wonky" they look as I thoroughly enjoyed putting him together in both modes. The pics that have been posted on this thread also look better to me than the individual pics on the boxes and together they look awesome!!The articulation is pretty amazing to me as well. The huge Optimus is now a "no-brainer" and I will eventually end up picking all of these up.

My only gripe, is taking the little blocks apart is sometimes difficult. Does anyone (even lego enthusiasts) have any tips to pull these apart without struggling? Those of us with no nails and fat fingers are challenged :drunk

Same here: I got Mirage. Not sure about it though. I get lego sets but I like to build the main model and rarely bother with the secondary model. So a Transformer building set that doesn't actually transform doesn't really satisfy the transfan in me.

Also, the KREO bricks fit together a bit too snugly. I prefer the feel of Legos.

I'd like the kreons as trading figurines or in their own sets.

    Get two of these:

Brick Separator | Starter Sets | LEGO Shop

And you'll be set. They always have them at Lego stores, and sometimes have them at TRU. I say get two because then if you have two tiny parts you can use both to leverage them against each other.

Agreed. Peaugh's pics have really made some of the figures like Sideswipe and Sentinel look waaaay cooler than the pics of them online at stores like TRU or Target. Makes me much more excited for them.

    What this guy says:

I have two as well, and they are very, very useful.

I would skip it, first of all, he is gray, not white, and then his Alt mode looks like poo.

While I agree that I want them to reissue this set and swap out all the silver pieces for white, I think his alt mode is kind of nifty.

It's a little "chubby," but it's got a good heft to it and rolls well, and I just like it. Would be nicer in white though, totally. I don't get some of the mix between movie and g1 that they've gone with on a few of these.
