Here's a question. Did anyone else notice the huge similarities between Terminator 2 and Transformers. Specifically with the Sam / Bumblebee vs John / Terminator scenes.

    For example,

Bumblebee protects sam from a cop car decepticon. Comes in to save him as he is about to terminated at the last minute.

Terminator protects John from T1000 impersonating a cop. T800 saves John as he is about to be terminated at the last minute.

Let me know what you think.

Yeah, thats like saying Michael Bay ripped off Armageddon for the Autobot entrance scene. Everything has been done so you eventually you could reference every scene in Transformers to another movie.

Armageddon no. But ID4 yes! Big time. Specifically with the secret Alien storage area Sector 7. Area 51 anyone. The scene was very similar. Not the same, just similar.

I speaking of when the Autobots 'crash' land on Earth, which looked almost exactly like the opening scenes of Armageddon when the meteorites begin crashing into buildings and such.

Seriously that whole sequence made me and every one of my friends think of T2. I don't think it was intentional, but the similarities are definitely there.

This was just a FYI, I am not complaining. T2 was like one of the best movies ever. The homage was great. Especially since this is the first film since then that has a good badass Robot protect a human from an evil killer robot.

I never thought there were any similar scenes between TF and T2, and I used to watch the hell out of T2. The only exception was:

But there were some similarities to other Bay movies: Armageddon and Bad Boys. I have never had problems with scenes that are homages in anyway, in fact I love them.

But the T2 thing may be a stretch, I will have to watch again though and see if I agree with the OP's sentiment.

Hadn't crossed my mind, nope. The characters are so vastly different, I don't think you have much of a case here.

    - BumbleBee communicates via Radio, just like the Plymouth Fury in the horror movie "Christine" by John Carpenter/Steven King. The car is evil and drives by itself, killing people and playing old 50's music via radio to express itself (there is a scene where it plays a 50's song saying "I love you" to the driver/owner of the vehicle).

    - The Plymouth Fury in Christine is also an antique and sold for a very cheap price.

    - The vehicle can "morph" and thus "heal" itself from any damage (similar to transforming?)

    Sounds like another connection..

You guys are crazy, the only movie that Transformers resembles is "Three Men and a Little Lady." Ironhide's character is the spitting image of Ted Danson; and Steve Guttenberg....need I say more, really?

I think all of these are just cliches. My friend says the title screen of LOZTP is a rip off from the opening of Shadow of the Collossus
