Thanks for the link. I've been looking for images like those for a long time. The sight of the Jetfires on the bottom will forever haunt me.

i was a kid in the 70's but the 80's was arguably the golden era of toys in the west. all those nice square and neat boxes!!

i'll stick my neck out though and say that transformers animated are the amongst the most attractive and fun looking toys in a long, long time, the word 'kids' comes to mind, even though they have a ben 10 bloodline the toys themselves have their own look, they dont have that japanime style which is a good thing.

TF animated: A breath of fresh air.

Funny how I remember 90% of those exact MOTU figures being shelfwarmers in the '80s. Confirmation right there.

I can just imagine myself in that store. "I'll take that one, and one of those, and one of these -- heck, just throw them all in my cart because I want them all!!" :)

I was sniffing about in Zodiac all the time when I was a nipper (good old Aylesbury). That place still slips into my thoughts when I remember collecting TF way back when. :)

I'll try to post the link tomorrow, but I have a bookmark at work to a site that has ads from the 80's showing toys on sale...

you think these will make you cry.. they were giving some of out most coveted toys away... :(

    I just had a joygasm. :)

Damn I wish I had been 27 back in the 80s. I'd be a rich mofo off that crap. I can just imagine my complete g1 collection, all funded by selling afa 95 graded Jetfires, Megatrons, Optimuses and Metroplexs.

Of course I'm the same DUMBASS that once traded a Fort Max for a a Sega Genesis w Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage....

I remember a Lionel's Toy world in Colorado Springs around that same time had an entire side of one aisle that was twice as long as what Wal-mart has today, full of Transformers going all the way back to '84.

    Those were the days.
