Who to pick for toy of the year? Blackout with its horrible tabs, Prime who basically a truck cab with a power suit or two so-so Legends toys that form a respectable duocon.

 

Makes sense. Still, that's super bizarre when Power of the Primes goes by POTP and not PO.

Voted Omega but we all know any BW character will win.

As for HoF, I love Unicron, but I’m pretty happy with the Armada mold. We need a titan Omega

Blackarachnia, because I want a real BW Blackarachnia, not a Tarantulas or Animated repaint.
Battletrap, since he's the only figure on the list that I actually own. Also really hope it means we can get Flywheels.

 

I don't get the love for Battletrap. I mean it's cool that we got an updated version of Battletrap, but the toy is just meh. I gave it to my kids to play with. Blackout, on the other hand, is an amazing toy and blows Battletrap out of the water.

Unicron is really the only one here who's actually become anything HOF worthy. Villain of the first Transformers movie, appeared as the main antagonist again in multiple cartoons, comics and a cameo in the live action film series. He's much more enriched in Transformers history than Omega or Blackarachnia who are both decent characters but never really broke out across the franchise besides in BW and Animated.

Don't care about collecting TFs anymore but Leader Blackout has my vote as its pretty much a figure everyone's wanted for ten years, looks fantastic, has an amazing internal scale and is part of probably the best main TF toyline running currently.

 

Blackarachnia was a pretty big deal though. One of the first few female characters with a deep personality and motivation and a design that is pretty darn memorable. Also her more defensless and broken side in beast machines was homaged as arcee in the 3H comics where she was a pinkish spider. Then that personality was given to prime arcee and of course arachnid was a definite blackarachnia inspiration. She’s a big deal. Now what exactly has Unicron done?

 

But none of this translates to a big impact on the franchise as a whole. Yes, she’s influenced a few new characters and had a solid role in Animated, but compared to Unicron she’s a solid midcarder at best.

I don’t disagree that Blackarachnia is a good character, but she objectively hasn’t done as much for Transformers as a whole like Unicron has. I’m not going to waste your time listing everything I already mentioned, but Unicron’s influence has spanned over 35 years of TF media, the likes of which haven’t really been matched by another villain in the franchise (with the obvious exceptions being the main Decepticons). For Christ’s sake, he was voiced by Orson Welles! I know TF fans as a whole probably won’t get this, but this is a pretty big deal.

But I guess it’s pointless to argue this. At the end of the day, this HOF is basically worthless and only serves to stroke the egos of fans for a month or two before being forgotten until next year.

 

Yes but what has he done though? Apart from appear in a fair amount of media over the years what has he really done? I don’t want to get to worked up on this but I’m just curious.

Also I agree these awards are pointless.
