Am I missing something here? The link just goes to Box Office Mojo's theatrical run summary for the movie. The rental earnings data is available under another tab, but only through January. (It's $47.54M.) I see no DVD sales data, and I see no total tally or mention of the $1B figure.

Besides, I'd think the global box office + DVD/HDDVD sales and rental total passed $1B a while ago.

OK, but where does it say that on the site to which you linked?

    Not really, no.

Seibertron's links are only to BOM's main page and their TF box office summary. I looked all over BOM, including news articles, and found nowhere mentioning the figures Seibertron quotes. In a search on BOM for "transformers", the only 2008 article in the results is the global box office report for the weekend of 5/4/08 -- and the only mention is to say that Forbidden Kingdom's China opening ranked just below that of TF. I suppose it's possible that I'm missing something on BOM because I don't have a user account, but I'd think the article in question would at least come up in a search, even if I couldn't click through to read it.

Further, USAToday says that TF sold 13.74 million DVDs in 2007. Seibertron's numbers would mean that it has only sold another ~160,000 copies in the 4-1/2 months since. That's a pretty precipitous drop-off.

    ...

Meanwhile, why am I the only person responding to this thread? :lol
