Good news then for the TF franchise. Solid movie revenues, solid toy sales.

Hopefully this means cartoons and comics will be kept around to keep this successful formula running.

Good. Hopefully this means Takara Tomy will do more with Transformers next year.

Hopefully this finally teaches Takara to leave the fiction to Hasbro.

Yes, this proves once again that Takara/Tomy should just leave Transformers fiction to the Americans, because history has shown that Transformers success in Japan peaks with an american fiction, and goes through the floorboards with a japanese fiction.

But you know they won't. They'll come up with crazy ideas, or alternatively, copy something somebody else is already doing or recycle a common genre theme to make a new series of japanese TF, then wonder WHY?!? Why did it fail?!?. They'll then conclude that the fault is not in themselves and their appalling marketing deparment, but in the stars and this stupid gaijin robot franchise.

As an aside: I thought Mainframe was Canadian? Oh and Simon Furman was from the UK. Don Figeuro(Sp?)? Andy Wildman? EJ. Su?

I think its fairer to say its an international effort although the Marvel/Sunbrow thing did kick it off as living robots.

Takara should just pump out Masterpiece figures and reissues. Leave the rest to Hasbro.

American as in, the American-side of Transformers, which is Hasbro. Hasbro-commissioned Transformers fiction written with an American (or at least, western english language) audience in mind.

I wasn't going to split the individual contributions of our creator friends into their ethnic backgrounds and nationalities, because that's not needed.

Coming soon! the TF movie anime series, featuring "Complexity Convoy" and "Metal Shard Megatoron" It's pretty much like the movie, except for this team of four children who wear color-coded ranger suits, and every five minutes some robot will yell "ALLSPARKUH POWAAAA!" and launch into a minute and a half of stock footage.

    (I keed because I love. ;)  )
