The excitement is over the prospect of Transformers being re-matted for IMAX and actually being able to make out the action sequences. I know there was more around the edges in the trailers and the commercials than there is in the final cut of the film during the Bonecrusher scene, and I want to see THAT.

Not that we're guaranteed to see it, but at least it's a possibility.

As has been mentioned, I'm not so sure that IMAX is going to be all that great for picking up the details... The screen is so damn big. My eyes don't quite have a wide-angle setting.

I think the experience will be awesome, but I wouldn't want this to be the first time seeing the movie.

Lets speculate what the new footage would be!!
I am guessing something during the Prime Bonecrusher fight. Maybe a bit extended with Barricade coming into the mix.

Another part I am guessing is during the battle in the city when Sam is running to the building. Blackout attacks him for the 2nd time but it just then cuts to SS flying down after Blackout kicks the taxi through the shop. I mean where were Ironhide and Ratchet?? Why didnt Blackout stick around to help out SS??

And the final 2 parts I am guessing that have a chance being extended are the BB Vs Barricade fight and the Prime VS Megs fight.

I am also 100% sure were going to get extra human footage!

That's absolutely guaranteed. Though I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt we're going to see any more robot action.

No matter how much we love Transformers, at some point we're going to have to face the fact that this movie and any sequels it spawns are not EVER going to be about Transformers. They're about how people who come in contact with Transformers.

Not that I wouldn't love more robot action, but I'd never expect it.

As for my comments about being excited to see this on IMAX, I think someone didn't understand my point. They may "uncrop" the footage of the battle scenes. Instead of being so tightly focused, maybe we'll get that "extra footage" around the edges of the screen that was present during the trailer and commercials, thus making the battles not quite so difficult to follow.

Just got this reply from IMAX.

"Thank you for your email to [email protected]. Transformers: The IMAX
Experience will be released to select IMAX theatres on September 21. A list
of confirmed theatres showing this film is not yet available."

    Best regards,
    Sarah Armstrong
    IMAX Corporation

    That word "select" worries me.

Alas, 'tis not right to release film in select IMAX! 'Tis an injustice! I really hope it comes to Baltimore's IMAX. (Prays).

Me too, I don't see why they wouldn't... I mean Baltimore's a pretty heavy populated area. The county and city alike.

In all fairness, I don't believe that all IMAX theatres show feature films. So I'm sure there will be plenty that don't show this.

Damn, ordered a hamburger but all you got was an empty bun! The main thing we need out of that reply is the list.

Man, they were not kidding about the "select locations" bit, if that list is entirely accurate.

And nothing in Maryland or DC. Ouch.

Chantilly, VA is usually considered to be in the DC metro area. The Udvar-Hazy center is part of the Smithsonian.
