    Hey all,
Was flipping through the channels earlier today, and stopped on CNN, where they were discussing the movie and it's affect on hasbro's stock. The "stock expert" predicted it would bomb, due to "you can't pull something out that's been absent from the public for many years, and expect it to do well. These toys haven't been seen since the 1980's".

Anyone else catch that segment? I'm trying to find something about it online, cause i'd like to let them know that TFs have been on shelves almost continuously since 1984. Wonder who does his background research.

After that, they predicted the toys wouldn't do well, since the movie was pg13 and that most kids wouldn't be able to see it.

    Matt

Nothing like not knowing what you are talking about on national TV. Hasn't Hasbro been doing just fine with the profits from the A/E/C lines?

I love it when people don't do any research for their little stories. What a moron. :lol

Reporters today really don't understand the concept of research before presentation.

Its sickening the amount of people who call themselves 'journalists'.

"Absent from the public for many years" WTF?!? Did he ever hear of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron; all of which had Transformers in the title. It is not like GI Joe that had a cartoon, then nothing for years until a couple of DVD movies and then Sigma Six

Was he asked this on the spot or would he have been given time beforehand to research?

If on the spot, you can't expect a grown man to keep up with toylines over the past 20 years.

If researched, well, shame on him I suppose.

Well who says he's been following Hasbro in particular? If he was asked with no warning beforehand you can blame the show for asking him.

he could always try doing some research on a brand for a half hour before making a report.
