I think Battletrap is a more fun toy - but I voted for Blackout as I think he's handsome.

He is not handsome like an F-22 Jet fighter though.

Battletrap. I love how his name now makes sense, when previously it seemed like he'd had his name swapped with flywheels. He's just flat out amazing engineering wise, and I have a hunch that like Buzzsaw in Combiner Wars, and Overlord In titan's return, there's a sneaky preview of play features that will be coming in future lines, I think Multiforce is coming (as well as flywheels).

Weall I’m not sure about that. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised but I wouldn’t bet money on it.

Battletrap is a fantastic toy and I wish they did all of the Legends class figures like him. It’s honestly a shame that he’s the only one.

Abonimus is the best figure they’ve released though. Blog is amazing just by himself.

This would be much better if we voted on LAST YEAR'S figures, of which we have all in hand. Voting on future toys we know nothing about aside from pictures is no way to do a poll.

Most complaining about battletrap must not have him.
Hasbro gave us an update to battletrap as two complete separate bots instead of cheaping out with two non-transforming alt modes that only make a bot when combined. We got two really good LEGENDS sized bots that when combined make a better deluxe than most of their deluxes. That's frikkin' amazing COMING FROM HASBRO! Yes the alt modes suffer, but for two good legends bots that make an amazing deluxe (with freaking ankle tilts mind you!) and have pretty cool transformations to each mode, I'll deal with some slightly weak alt modes.
Have we gotten so jaded by MP and 3p that some of us can't recognize or admit when hasbro knocks one out of the park?
And as these two bots don't exist in g1, but their combined form and alts homage a singular g1 character, I'm willing to let the fact that they are two separate characters for potp slide. And also, they're amazing...:p

I do own Battletrap. Good toys, yes, but not toy of the year good.

In most years, I'd be inclined to agree, but I'm sure not seeing much in the way of competition for that honor among this year's toys....

And that's the problem. There's a whole half year of toys left. You never know...once he was in hand, fans might have been swooned over Optimus Primal. But thanks to the timing (only Q1 and Q2 toys) and 6 months of problematic distribution by retailers ... we're left with Battletrap winning a TotY poll? That's some serious disconnect between the distribution side and the marketing sides of Hasbro!

Oh, I have him, though I often forget I do.

Most of SS outclasses Battletrap easily.

Sure, BT has a neat gimmick, but both alt modes look like utter trash, and the individual robot modes are pretty pathetic. At least SS Blackout looks amazing and fulfills a niche that's existed for a decade, or SS Starscream is at least a friggin solid figure all around.

Also, y'know, MP Dinobot. But that's the problem when you hold a figure of the year vote before the year is even halfway through.

I bet you hasbro knows that their figures would lose to anything from takara even if it was a one step changer.

I don't think Takara figures qualify.
I wouldn't go THAT far. Topspin was my choice last year and I'd STILL vote for the Hasbro version over the Takara version if only because we got the more appropriate weaponry with Hasbro's.

It's also the fact that what you're really voting for is Roadtrap and Battleslash, which are two toys that I don't think are even the best among their own size class let alone the best of the year.

Slash/Cindersaur wins best Legend class to me, and I actually think the Autobots like Outback despite being a Brawn redo have a bit more personality than the two Decepticons.

Plus it's too early to vote, no one really owns everything like Optimal Optimus and Predaking yet, plus something like Punch/Counterpunch could turn out to be pretty amazing.

I would love to see future Legends figures being combiners, though. Do Flywheels and then go to town on Energon Autobot characters.
