    .. sort of!

Megatron probably wouldn`t understand the logic, but Hasbro have done their little bit to stop deforestation by changing their paper supplier from the notorious (it turns out) APP (Asia Pulp and Paper)

more about that on the GreenPeace site

    I welcome this! :)

People still do not think enough of the environment. When I look at my work here... so many people print so many useless stuff where there could be an email. People seem to still think in "paper" and not digital. It's annoying. People should really think more about nature.

    Especially corporations!

Hooray, I'm all for corporate responsibility. Even if you're not sold on the 'green agenda', big old deforestation of underdeveloped parts of the world is something none of us could feel comfortable with, surely?

Wondered if Hasbro's change from plastic to thread ties was part of this, too.

The size of their packaging is still ridiculous. It's even worse now with their odd inclination to package larger ones in robot form.

    Yay!
this move on HASBRO's part will help me to sleep better at night as we all tear open our plastic packaging and play with our plastic toys!

Saving the earth, one piece of plastic at a time!

Neat! They also switched to those paper ties a while back, that seems a little more sustainable to me.

I wish they'd use more efficient packaging, which would save on shipping AND materials usage AND help collectors store them more easily.

Also, didn't Hasbro say they were going to move production to Vietnam in the next little while? Doing so could allow them an opportunity to use new, more advanced manufacturing equipment, which could provide cost savings as well as greater environmental sustainability.
