Who's the guy? Is that a reimagining of Snake Eyes?

Thinking of picking up the series, any reviews or thoughts on it? Thanks!

Well, I can't make much out apart from "IMAGE HOSTED BY TRIPOD". I mean, seriously, who still uses that ish in this day and age?!

    Yeah, it's Snake Eyes.

I really enjoyed that series, the story and art were very complimentary.

I thought it was a big departure from the normal TF stuff, but in a good way. And you can pick back issues up for cheap.

Yeah, I liked it too. Bear warning though, that it's a very big departure, both story and art wise, from what you may be used to in either Transformers or GI Joe comics. The cover is a good indicator of what you'll find inside....lots of shadows, very heavy on the blacks and browns, hardly any bright color.

I really really like the art style, actually haha.

Never got into TF comics aside from the Dreamwave releases so now i'm picking up the few Dreamwave releases I didn't read/check out and the new issues.

Thanks a lot fellas, will be picking up the series shortly.

    I hated the art style.

As for the story, it was good.

I have an extra set for sale if you want it :)

But yeah I liked the story and I think the art was fun. I would actually love a current TF series set in this style (like if the animated movie comic was done in this style that woulda been fun)

I believe it's also in manga format. Cheaper and easier to carry around, although they simplified the art in making it black and white. I read it the first time around, but can hardly remember anything else about it.

I hate hate hate Jae Lee's art, and this book is no exception. Some of the designs were cool, but his art just gets on my nerves.

Story was cool, but could have been better. Supposedly they could not have any reference to Nazis which would have been a cool COBRA connection.

I would have to say the most f'd up scene is where you see why Snake Eyes wears the mask.

The art was great. However the story wasn't paced properly. The series started out very well and was awesome but you could tell that there was no way everything would be wrapped up properly. Everything just built and built and built until they ran out of space for a satisfying conclusion.

Everything was great about this series except the resolution.

The art takes some cues from Mignola... the bit I didn't like personally was how the faction symbols were pasted on afterwards.

Other than that, harmless fun that concentrates a fair bit on the Joes. Didn't mind the loose ending. It leaves some things to the reader rather than heavy-handedly spelling them out. :)

I loved this story! I'm always a fan of "What If?" style stuff, although one could argue that the entire TF canon is "What If?" style stuff, you know? Still...worth a read!

I got the whole series a few days ago. Good story, but I'm not sure about the art style. A bit too dark, I like it when I see my Transformers clearly.
