it's kind of annoying to me that despite Prime's vehicle mode being a derpy, gappy mess they bothered to give him niceties that have been lacking the past few years like translucent windows AND painted the side mirrors and even the WINDSHIELD WIPERS... Like, you went to all that trouble but couldn't make the truck look a bit more like a truck???

This has been a trend lately with Hasbro...they'll put out figures with weird, awesome details that they haven't done in ages but totally drop the ball on other, far more important things.

Or you could wait before passing judgement, there's a lot of joints in the back things could fold a bit more flush, even with it's flaws as is, it's amazing.

Always hate this period between Hasbro reveals and wondering when/if/how TT's gonna do something :redface2:  My guess is we'll have to wait till February WonderFest... sigh:banghead:

All are must buys for me... but which version... really hope Takara does Rodimus in more of a magenta-y color scheme like the Targetmaster they're making.
Also hoping like most people for a bit more paint on the Optimus. Since these are both Leaders, I can't afford the space to buy both versions.:(

I remember when new toy lines were accompanied by TV shows. Those were the good old days.

Now we get a bad web-only-on-service-no-one-uses show after the line is completed and you probably can't find the toys anymore. So weird. So much marketing fail.

Judging purely on the how well the toys look, I'd say both look effeminate too. Look at ask those GORGEOUS feathers on AOE Slash, Darling. G1 Tracks is simply JEALOUS, don't you know...

This is a famous UK comic story, from the British "Viz" comic. Searching for "The fat sl@gs" will yield pictures or comic scans that are NSFW.

I'm okay with the dino modes and the robot modes, but the more I look at them, I think I'll wait for the early reviews. Maybe I'll wait for the eventually box set.

The Leaders and the Pretenders are instant buys tho. Everything else is going to wait or get passed on.

Good tv shows that didn't recycle the same plot structure every episode. Every episode of Animated was better then RID, and I don't even like Animated.

That's not what he was talking about.
But hey, whatever. Move the goalposts, I don't care.

Yeah, it's like a monkey's paw: we get the most amazing and innovative Transformers trilogy in years, but it's coupled with horrific budget cuts resulting in hollow limbs and swiss-cheese plastic everywhere.

I'm honestly surprised that no 3rd party has gone exclusively into the business of providing parts to fill the gaps in these figures. They'd make a killing. I know megamoonman did it for CW Jetfire, which was amazing and improved the figure by leaps and bounds.

Also always worth remembering, Generations was never introduced with TV show support. That's why I can't complain too loudly about CW & TR Machinima stuff, because the normal situation would be that we get absolutely nothing in support of it or even tangentially related to it, unless you count the comics.

Generations, as much as we may all love it, is not the main toy line. It's a secondary, slightly more complex, slightly more geared to older kids and kids at heart (who sometimes grudgingly call ourselves "adults" ... shudder... lol) line for "8 years+ and collectors" that has never been supported by a real show.

Now, if someone wanted to make the argument that it should get a show to support it, or that the sales of the line are now strong enough (perhaps even always have been strong enough) to justify a show, then that's another discussion. But in terms of the present status quo, expecting a new toy line in Generations to get a show isn't consistent with the way things have worked for a long while now.

(Which is not to say I didn't wish it were otherwise, don't get me wrong.)

You know, the thing that annoyed me most about TR was the too on the nose G1-ness of it but also the dumbing down of the figures. For the most part, they look pretty close to their RID cousins when previous lines didn't have a similar visual style between the kid's line and the older aimed line.
