I figured that there should be a thread for general discussion on the Generations line; a chance to talk about the figures both bad, and good.

Well, Transformers Generations has arrived stateside and I for one am totally excited. This line has great potential even starting out better then Universe if you ask me, a great improvement over the others really. Universe was the beginning of Hasbro's new engineering style and this line seems to be refining it. If the line keeps up this quality I will be ecstatic.

i may be wrong, but Dirge was RotF, Jetblade (Dirge repaint) may be in the Generations line.

i got pre-orders in place for Drift, Thrust, Darkmount. I need to add Red Alert since i never got a Henkei, but i will wait a while.

i can't wait for Seaspray which will go in with my Classics/Generations collection, as well.

I'm fairly sure that's the other way around.

Yup, there will be a Dirge in a future wave of Generations. Jetblade is definitely in HFTD line, saw the deluxe toy at retail just a few hours ago.

IIRC there will be a Generations Dirge. So that's Thrust, Dirge, Red Alert & Drift all bought on sight for me! Will need to see the Blurr repaint before deciding on him. Will probably get Darkmount too actually.

Very exciting, but I still think the drift figure is a weird choice, whilst we are waiting on Jazz and Wheeljack. Ill still get him though as he has a sword haha. Cant wait for affordable Thrust and Red Alert!

I think I need that one picture that'll blow me away before I get him, it's just something about the colour pallet that bothers me. I still hate bludgeon.
    He's right on this.
Drift will be worth the weirdness if we get an appropriate Blurr figure from it. And the day we see pictures of Wheeljack and Jazz I may shit a chicken.
I know how you feel, I haven't bought anything since leader Jetfire.
I did, I'm just including main figures.

I hope that some more quality stuff comes from the line. I kind of wish it would get more diverse though, like new Beast Wars molds and perhaps an Animated one. I mean, Rinox, Rattrap, and Blackarachnia need new mold love.

But keep the War for Cybertron stuff coming. :D

I just hope new Generations figures means I'll be buying more Henkei! figures in the near future.

I still need to finish up buying the Henkei! figures that are already out too...

I'm excited about Generations but disappointed in the announced figures so far. I have no interest in the WFC stuff nor the comic figures like Drift and Darkmount. I also have the Henkei versions of the G1 repaints.

I really hope we see some new mold G1 characters at Botcon. How about Jazz and Wheeljack for starters. :p

    Been saying this for ages!!!

These exact words have passed through my head many times over the past few months.

How long after the first Classics toys did Henkeis appear?

Classics sightings didn't being until Aug 2006(if I recall correctly?)

Henkei didn't start until March 2008

But the Universe releases were withing months of each other. I'd probably do the same thing and wait for the Henkei versions this time around as well. Toon accuracy and chrome FTW!

Right now I'm saying "Screw everything else, I want Generations". GreenScream and Tiller are right, we need new molds.

I think I'm gonna buy up all the Generations figures I like and then if TakTom do bring out Henkei versions, I will buy them too and sell my Generations versions (assuming I prefer the Henkei figures).

I'm really excited that there will be new Transformers on the shelves that I want to buy. Seems like it's been too long that there wasn't something other than an exclusive to hunt down.

Not the most exciting releases so far, but I've got some hope that perhaps Hasbro will pull out some major characters during Bot Con to really knock the line out of the park. Still the figures all look like more nice steps forward for the look and play of the figures.

The little thing nagging at the back of my mind is that just went the line really gets rolling that it will get axed for a period of nothing but third movie releases. I'd love to see the line have a nice long run but given the track record I've got a bad feeling the line is going to get snatched away before it can really get rolling.

I love Henkei but I will not be waiting for Henkei versions of Generations since A) Some of them have already been Henkei'd (Red Alert, Thrust, Dirge) or they look pretty accurate already (Drift, Darkmount).

I do wonder if they'll make the WFC figures metallic looking which would be awesome. I think I'll get em anyway and use them for parts if the Japanese come up with better versions.
